[PATCH] qemu-xen: Intel GPU passthrough, fix OpRegion mapping.
The OpRegion shouldn''t be mapped 1:1 because the address in the host can''t be used in the guest directly. This patch traps read and write access to the opregion of the Intel GPU config space (offset 0xfc). To work correctly this patch needs a change in hvmloader. HVMloader will allocate 2 pages for the OpRegion and write this address on the config space of the Intel GPU. Qemu

Patch series for IGD passthrough
This series contains all the fixes required to produce a working IGD passthrough box. All the changes are previously seen in the dev list but not yet accepted. Some of them are out-dated and need some reshape. Detailed description can be found later in each patch. . [PATCH 1/3] qemu-xen-trad/pt_msi_disable: do not clear all MSI flags . [PATCH 2/3] qemu-xen-trad: Correctly expose PCH ISA bridge

XCI: can we get to the demo state?
Hello XCI developers, I have a HP6930, downloaded xenclient from the git. And by following the instruction in HOWTO, I could get xenclient boot up fine. I try then to start a guest using xenvm.readme as template and nothing shows on the screen for the guest, although xenops shows 2 doms running. Can you point me to how to start a guest. And also, is the tree downloaded from git enough to arrive

[PATCH] Included reserved memory regions in dom0 iommu mappings
This adds a boolean boot parameter to xen to allow reserved memory regions to be added to the iommu mappings for dom0. The parameter is "iommu_include_reserved" and is off by default. A warning is also traced when incorrect RMRR to system memory map values are detected. This is being added to address some incorrect BIOS''s that do not report correctly the requied reserved memory

Intel HD4000 IGD pass through appears to work, but monitor complains about 'no signal'
I''ve seen a recent report claiming that it works: http://linux-bsd-sharing.blogspot.pt/2012/10/howto-xen-413-windows-8-hvm-domu-with.html However, in my case, with a slightly different HW configuration the story is totally different. :-( My config: HW: I7-3770 + AsRock H77M-ITX board Dom0: Debian Wheezy stock xen (v4.1.3) + Debian stock kernel (3.2.x / 3.6.x) 64 bit version. [PATCH 2/3] V5 qemu-xen-trad: Correctly expose PCH ISA bridge for IGD passthrough
The i915 driver probes chip version through PCH ISA bridge device / vendor ID. Previously, the PCH ISA bridge is exposed as PCI-PCI bridge in qemu-xen-trad, which breaks the assumption of the driver. This change fixes the issue by correctly exposing the ISA bridge to domU. Signed-off-by: Rui Guo <firemeteor@users.sourceforge.net> Tested-by: Rui Guo <firemeteor@users.sourceforge.net>

[PATCH 0 of 6] Add support for a VM generation ID virtual device (v2)
The following is a revised patch series to add support for a VM generation ID virtual device for HVM guests. The basic requirements of this device are as follows: - It must be exposed somewhere in ACPI namespace with a _CID of "VM_Gen_Counter". - It must also include a _DDN of "VM_Gen_Counter". - It must contain a _HID object but no particular value is required. - It must

[PATCH v4 01/04] HVM firmware passthrough HVM defs header
Add public HVM definitions header for firmware passthrough support (including comment describing the feature''s use). In addition this header is used to collect the various xenstore string values that are used in HVMLOADER. [PATCH 0/2] Fix SMBios table regressions in HVM guests
The series "HVM firmware passthrough" series in Jan 2013 from Ross Philipson cause two regressions for HVM guests which sadly found their way into the Xen 4.3 release. The first regression causes an incorrect count of tables to be placed in the main header, and can be seen by running dmidecode in any applicable HVM domain. The second regression found its way into the public ABI, making

Bug: Limitation of <=2GB RAM in domU persists with 4.3.0
I just built 4.3.0 in order to get > 2GB of RAM in domU with GPU passthrough without crashes. Unfortunately, the same crashes still happen. Massive frame buffer corruption on domU before it locks up solid. It seems the PCI memory stomp is still happening. I am using qemu-dm, as I did on Xen 4.2.x. So whatever fix for this went into 4.3.0 didn''t fix it for me. Passing less than 2GB

Issue about domU missing interrupt
Hi developers, I met some domU issues and the log suggests missing interrupt. Details from here: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/xen/users/263938#263938 In summary, this is the suspicious log: (XEN) vmsi.c:122:d32767 Unsupported delivery mode 3 I''ve checked the code in question and found that mode 3 is an ''reserved_1'' mode. RE: Xen-3.2.1 VT-d Support (NOT SURE WHETHER IT''S A BUG OR...)
Hello, I''m also seeing this exact same problem. I''ve posted on xen-users, but did not get an answer. Venkat seems to be experiencing the same problem as me. I have the latest BIOS for my motherboard DQ35JO. (BIOS ver 933) I''m running a Q6600 as well. It hangs at "Brought up 4 CPUs." I''ve tried all sorts of combinations of Xen versions and kernels to

[PATCH] hvmloader: write extra memory in CMOS
Some firmware, such as OVMF relies on this value to get the size of extra memory above 4GB. Seabios in Xen doesn''t need this as it gets e820 directly from Xen. Rombios doesn''t read this value. [PATCH v2 02/03] HVM firmware passthrough libxl support
This patch introduces support for two new parameters in libxl: smbios_firmware=<path_to_smbios_structures_file> acpi_firmware=<path_to_acpi_tables_file> The changes are primarily in the domain building code where the firmware files are read and passed to libxc for loading into the new guest. After the domain building call to libxc, the addresses for the loaded blobs are returned and

[PATCH v2 0/2] vfio: blacklist legacy virtio devices
Legacy virtio devices always bypassed an IOMMU, so using them with vfio was never safe. This adds a quirk detecting these and disabling VFIO unless the noiommu mode is used. At the moment, this only applies to virtio-pci devices. The patch might make sense on stable as well. Michael S. Tsirkin (2): vfio: report group noiommu status vfio: add virtio pci quirk
