[PATCH 00/15] RFC xen device model support
Hi all, this is the long awaited patch series to add xen device model support in qemu; the main author is Anthony Perard. Developing this series we tried to come up with the cleanest possible solution from the qemu point of view, limiting the amount of changes to common code as much as possible. The end result still requires a couple of hooks in piix_pci but overall the impact should be very

[supermin PATCH v2 0/4] Check for output results for --if-newer (RHBZ#1813809)
This is an attempt to make supermin check for the existing results of an output when checking whether the appliance must be rebuilt using --if-newer. At the moment it is implemented only for the ext2 output format of the build mode. Changes from v1: - drop empty stub for the prepare mode - add patch to ignore --if-newer on modes different than build - squash patch with stub for the build mode

dracut ipv6 fixed ip
hi, we have successfully implemented at tang/clevis environment for automatically entering luks keys and booting hosts without operator intervention. Now we would like to use this as well on ipv6 networks, but I do not seem to get it to work. I have already posted this issue to the dracut devs github issue tracker ( https://github.com/dracutdevs/dracut/issues/554) but no response so far. Maybe

[PATCH] Update new qemu-dm to spawn vncviewer
This patch does 3 things to the new device model, qemu-dm: 1) Add `vncviewer'' as an option to `qemu-dm'' to spawn a `vncviewer'' process. 2) Have the `vncviewer'' config parameter translate to the `vncviewer'' flag to `qemu-dm''. 3) Add a new config parameter, `vncconnect'', that spawns a `vncviewer'' process that looks for a

[supermin PATCH v2 4/4] build: check for outputs in --if-newer check (RHBZ#1813809)
In case we need to check whether the appliance must be rebuilt, check also the timestamp of the outputs of the mode, i.e. the kernel, initrd, and root files. This way, when either of these files does not exist or is older than the package manager DB we can rebuild the appliance. Add a simple test to verify this behaviour. --- src/mode_build.ml | 12 ++++++++ src/mode_build.mli

[PATCH 0/2] lib: appliance: qemu 2.9.0 supports TCG with -cpu host on x86 (RHBZ#1277744).
NB: This requires a qemu patch by Eduardo which is currently awaiting review: https://www.mail-archive.com/qemu-devel@nongnu.org/msg422959.html So not to be applied yet unless that qemu change goes upstream. Rich.

[PATCH] aarch64: launch: libvirt: As a workaround, pass -cpu parameter to qemu.
From: "Richard W.M. Jones" <rjones@redhat.com> When libguestfs is running using TCG on aarch64, we need to pass the -cpu cortex-a57 parameter to qemu. Libvirt doesn't let us do this, complaining "Unable to find CPU definition". As a temporary workaround only, use <qemu:commandline> to pass this argument directly to qemu. When libvirt is fixed we can remove

[PATCH 1/2] launch: direct: Use a single -machine [type, ]accel=... option.
Previously we used (on arm): -M virt -machine accel=... After this change, we use: -machine virt,accel=... On x86 there is no change. The -M option is an abbreviation for -machine, and we can combine the two options together. (Qemu combines the two options internally, but it's more predictable if we do it ourselves). Upstream qemu has supported the -machine option for over 5 years, and in
