config file conflict??
I think it has to be something trivial, but I cannot start 2 windows servers at the same time on the same dom0. If I start server 2008 first I can''t start 2012, if I start 2012, I can''t start 2008. The failure is: libxl: error: libxl_device.c:470:libxl__wait_for_device_model Device Model not ready xl: fatal error: libxl_create.c:535, rc=-1: libxl__confirm_device_model_startup

[PATCH, v2]: xl: Implement per-API-call garbage-collection lifetime
Changes since v1: - Fix a double-free bug introduced by v1, pointed out by Stefano where internal pointer was being passed back to caller from libxl_create_stubdom() 8<---------------------------------------------------------------------- Currently scratch variables allocated by libxl have the same lifetime as the context. While this is suitable for one off invocations of xl. It is not

[libvirt] SRIOV configuration
Hello, We encountered a problem while testing SRIOV on kubevirt [1]: We are currently using the Device "hostdev" generic options to pass-through the VF to the guest. It is not done through the "interface" (with type hostdev) because that option requires access to the PF which is not available in our case (the VF is moved to the container namespace where libvirt runs, but not

bridge + SR-IOV guests with KVM
Hi, I managed to get SR-IOV with an Intel I350 NIC to work. For this I followed the documentation on this page: https://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking#Assignment_from_a_pool_of_SRIOV_VFs_in_a_libvirt_.3Cnetwork.3E_definition But as I have more VMs then VF on the NIC I also have a bridge wich serves the other guests. As I run Debian Buster as host I followed the documentation here:

Adding a VLAN tag to a libvirt SR-IOV VF network using the "virsh net-update" command
Hi all, How do you add a VLAN tag to a libvirt SR-IOV VF network usingthe "virsh net-update" command? I couldn't find the section to passto the "virsh net-update" command to add the VLAN tag. I have the following libvirt network defined for a SR-IOV VF: <network>  <name>GE0-0-SRIOV-1</name>  <uuid>7bc67166-c78e-4bcf-89ee-377dd9086631</uuid>

Trace SRIOV NIC''s MSI-X delivery to Xen
Hi all, I''m using Xen4.0.1 with SLES11SP1 with Intel''s SRIOV NIC in passthrough mode to FedoraCore14 guest HVMs. From guest HVM I''m able to send packets out but not able to receive the same. Intel NIC HW counters are reporting receiving packets but the same is not reaching the guest HVM. My NIC uses MSI-X to report packets to SW. which should be received by Xen

question about libvirt network Xml
Hi, I’m an openstack developer trying to use Assignment from a pool of SRIOV VFs in a libvirt <network> definition from this link http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking My question is is it possible for nova (the openstack compute) to know which VF out of the pool will be allocated to a VM before it invokes libvirt to launch it? Thanks In advance, Robert

Re: Could you please help with questions about the net failover feature
Hi Laine, For the feature testing before, I only test the linux bridge setting as in 2), it works. Now I tried 1), to use macvtap bridge mode connected to the PF, it can not work as the hostdev interface can not get dhcp ip address on the guest. Check on host, the /var/log/messages and dmesg both says: "Jul 6 04:54:45 dell-per730-xx kernel: ixgbe 0000:82:00.1 enp130s0f1: 1 Spoofed packets
