[XenPPC] Re: [PATCH] Fix BUG in alloc_heap_pages
This is an important find, it may require an audit of uses list_del
where its use is not immediately by some form of destruction of the
containing object.

Big Bug:Time in VM running on xen goes slower
Dear all:
I have found a big bug on xen concerning time virtualization. Please let me show you the whole process:
1 Phenomenon
when I run a JVM based program in IE browser in my Virtual Machine, I have found clearly that time at the right bottom corner in my VM gets more slower and slower.
I studied the bug deeply, and found something below.

page->tlbflush_timestamp
Hi,
page->tlbflush_timestamp is used to filter and flush the TLB whenever
type change of page happens. But why does xen flush TLB upon the type
change? And we already know that guest kernel will flush the TLB in order
to make the page table modifications take effect.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Sam

[RFC/PATCH v4] XENMEM_claim_pages (subop of existing) hypercall
This is a fourth cut of the hypervisor patch of the proposed
XENMEM_claim_pages hypercall/subop, taking into account
feedback from Jan and Keir and IanC, plus some fixes found
via runtime debugging (using privcmd only) and some
added comments/cleanup.
[Logistical note: I will be out tomorrow (Friday) plus US
holidays next week so my responsiveness to comments may be
slower for awhile. --djm]

[PATCH 2/6] xen: add per-node bucks to page allocator
This patch adds a per-node bucket to the heap structure in Xen. During
heap initialization the patch determines which bucket to place the
memory. We reserve guard pages between node boundaries in the case that
said boundary isn''t already guarded by the MAX_ORDER boundary to prevent
the buddy allocator from merging pages between nodes.

[PATCH 0 of 3] credit2 updates
Address some credit2 issues. This patch series, along with the recent
changes to the cpupools interface, should address some of the strange
credit2 instability.

page ref/type count overflows
With pretty trivial user mode programs being able to crash the kernel due to
the ref counter widths in Xen being more narrow than in Linux, I started an
attempt to put together a kernel side fix. While addressing the plain
hypercalls is pretty strait forward, dealing with multicalls (both when using
them for lazy mmu mode batching and when explicitly using them in e.g.
netback - the backends are

[patch 0/6] [rfc] guest page hinting version 5
After way to many months here is the fifth version of the guest page
hinting patches. Compared to version four a few improvements have been
added:
- Avoid page_host_discards() calls outside of page-states.h
- The discard list is now implemented via the page_free_discarded
hook and architecture specific code.
- PG_state_change page flag has been replaced with architecture
