Wanted: XCP 1.1 tutorial for creating VMs from scratch using xe CLI
Hello,
It is nearly not possible to use XCP without a tutorial, in particular
if ones has to use the xe CLI.
Reading of reference.pdf and guests.pdf of XenServer and different wiki
pages didn''t help enough.
Even *XCP seems to be a very good software* it will be useless without
good documentation because of it''s complexity.
Thank you in advance for any hints.

Windows port
Hi!
I would like to ask about current state of Windows port. Is it frozen? It will be cool to know the plans :)
Where are a lot of Windows-branches at GitHub. What is the most actual one?
The Windows builder looks like turned off, am I right that it is not available currently and where were no builds after version 2.6.5-6?
I couldn't find any info about proper environment to build Windows

Need to migrate a centos image from xen source to xenserver
Have an Onapp system we are migrating away from to xenserver and it uses
Xen source images I believe. I had no problem moving the MS Windows
servers using the xenconvert utility, but not being a linux guy the
conversion process of moving files from Onapp to xenserver is not clear.
I think the files on Onapp are .img files, but they don''t use extensions
from what I can tell when they

build samba manpages in CentOS 7
Hi,
I tried to build samba 4.1.12 in freshly installed CentOS 7 following
the descriptions on
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Build_Samba
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/OS_Requirements
yum reports that it does not know the packages xattr, xsltproc, docbook.
Configure complains that perl is missing.
After adding perl, running configure, make, and make install, there are
no man pages

preferred XEN dom0 OS
Hi,
What is the preferred OS to use with XEN, as the dom0 host?
We primarely us CentOS (currently 5.6) but it seems that the native
XEN that comes with CentOS is a bit behind.
What is the preferred OS to run on the dom0''s?

Seeking contributors for Lustre User Manual
In hopes of improving the quality, coverage, and currency of the Lustre

Re: XCP which management console to use - plus XenServer question
Thanks for all the help...
XVP seems quite high on requirements. Like it needs an SMTP server set
up. I''m not sure I like that.
I found a tool called BixData, it''s proprietary but with a free
license for a limited number of managed servers. Being a fully fledged
cloud management system, it''s true overkill for me and my 3-4 virtual
machines, but at least it seems quite

Documentation-related questions
3a. What part of the documentation needs the most immediate attention?
3b. Will anyone come after me with an axe if I move the entire corpus
to ASCIIDOC markup? http://www.methods.co.nz/asciidoc/
3c. Why isn't the content of the website a branch in the repo? Can
we fix things so it is?
Hint: If the website becomes a repo branch, I'll reorganize and
rewrite that for clarity, too.

Noob question: Where is "xe" on xen 4.0 on Debian Sid?
Hi,
I have a somewhat bigger problem: I installed Xen 4.0 on Debian Sid and got
it working so far. But the "xe" tool is missing, so I cannot import xva
files.
So, where do I get "xe"?
Regards,
Jens

XCP, XCCS, xe, and XVP, random thoughts
Well, that was a lot of alphabet soup acronyms :).
I''ve just been thinking about the claim in a prior post that using the
xe cli with XCP abnormally increases the XCP server load. The only way I
could see this happening is to be running xe from the servers command
line. I use xe extensively to do the grunt work of XCCS (Xen Cloud
Control System). I don''t see the loading

XE VM install
Hi -
I''m trying to use the instructions here http://xen.pablolibo.com/doku.php to create a new VM but it''s not clear where the .cfg file should go and what to do next. I was thinking xe needs to install the vm from the /mnt/so_xen mount but i''m not sure. Are the steps on the site reasonable? Is there a way to install a vm from USB instead?
I don''t have an
