libguestfs on Debian 6 squeeze problems
I'm trying to install libguestfs on Debian squeeze installed from http://people.debian.org/~bengen/libguestfs/ It does not work. Here are the details: I was able to install libguestfs-tools and its dependencies. However, aptitude removed the following two packages: qemu and qemu-system. I'm not sure if it's okay or not. If I try to install those packages back, I get the

Abnormal memory usage of dom0 under Squeeze leading to crash
Hi, We normally run Lenny dom0 with 384 MB of RAM in our production server. But as we did few trials with Squeeze, I had the very bad finding that a Squeeze dom0 requires at least 1024 MB of RAM. As soon as I do something like "xm mem-set Domain-0 800", my server crashes: OOM starts killing processes, starting with sshd, then mdadm and so on, then the server reboots by itself. This

Xen port for MIPS
Hi all, I want to port Xen for MIPS64 architecture as my MS thesis. My strategy is that to know (some how) what are changes required to make a kernel into  xen enabled kernel for x86 and try to change accordingly MIPS portion of the code. Now I have two issues over here 1) The above strategy is for xen enabled kernel but have no clear picture for Xen hypervisor. 2) I''m currently working

Trying to upgrade domU to squeeze
Hello, Not sure this is the right place to ask Xen user-questions. I am running Lenny and try to upgrade a domU to Squeeze. After the installation of a new xen-kernel in the domU and upgrading udev I did a reboot but then the kernel does not find the root anymore, and it's dropping me to a shell. When I look into /dev/ I don't see any disks or partions. Is here somebody who can help me

debian squeeze gotchas using xen 4
I installed a debian squeeze desktop client today and a squeeze, with xen 4, on one of our servers. I had problems getting libvirt on the client to create virtual machines on the server. The fix was to create a symbolic link called xen to /usr/lib64/xen-4.0 on the server as libvirt was looking for files in that path. Is there anything else I should be aware of/issues regarding this setup? I

Xen + Debian Squeeze + Recent ATI Graphics Card
Hi List, I'm looking for some info regarding the above - I've got a machine with a fairly recent ATI Radeon graphics card (RV730XT) installed that ultimately I'd like to run Xen with a Debian Squeeze Dom0. From the reading I've done so far, the situation with graphics cards and PVOPS is not entirely clear to me, hence this request. (N.B. I appreciate that Xen is more geared

xen 4 and grub2 on debian squeeze
Hi! I''m experimenting with Xen 4 on Squeeze. Squeeze uses grub2 by default, and the config format has changed. I can''t for the life of me figure out where to set options for the hypervisor and the Dom0 kernel on bootup. It seems the grub2 stanza for xen is being generated by /etc/grub.d/20_linux_xen and that seems to have some provisions for receiving arguments, but I

Boot failure with squeeze 4.0 hypervisor, fixed with later 4.0-testing
Hi, I have a machine that was previously running the lenny-packaged hypervisor. I upgraded it to squeeze recently and it failed to complete a boot of the dom0 kernel. I reported this on xen-devel? and was advised to try building a hypervisor from the tip of 4.0-testing. I did this and this seems to work for me. I'm guessing that since wheezy will be released soon there is little interest in

Dahdi 2.4.0 and Squeeze
Hi, I'm using a two-years old installation script for the first time on a Squeeze (linux 2.6.32) platform. For an unknown reason (might be an obvious one), Dahdi can't be loaded anymore. 1. First of all, it seems /dev/dahdi content was previously (ie in Lenny) owned by asterisk:asterisk (asterisk is run as asterisk). Now it is owned by root. Any clue about this ? 2. Secondly, I changed
