Diagnosing random hangs
I have many different centos machines that are hanging
regulary. I believe this is due to something our application
is doing - not a centos specific problem.
When the machines hang, there is no access to the console
or remote access(ssh, rsh, etc).
Any tips on debugging this issue? It is becoming quite a
show stopper as we migrate our product from Solaris to
Linux.

Xen and nvidia
Hi all,
I''ve got a couple of questions regarding the current
status of nvidia with Xen, since it is well known that nvidia
doesn''t work as smooth at the moment with Xen (comparing to ati).
My current goal is to use one nvidia gtx460 card and the
onboard intel hd4000 on dom0, and then do passthrough for
another nvidia gtx460 to a Windows domU.
I know there are patches

Nouveau not working on second monitor
Hi,
I have a problem that my nouveau driver does not properly load every time I boot my laptop.
It either:
- defaults to the vesa driver (always if my power cord is plugged into the laptop
- starts nouveau but without the external monitor
- starts nouveau WITH the external monitor (as it should be)
(starting without the monitor attached and then connecting it always fails & crashes X)

Trying CUDA/OpenCL with VGA Passthrough
Hi everyone,
First post, already a call for help :)
I''m trying to use a gtx 580 with Xen 4 VGA Passthrough to test CUDA
performances, the MB is an Asus P7P55 LX with a i7 870, VT-D is enabled
in bios and reported as active by Xen.
I''m using Debian Squeeze as Dom0 and DomU OS.
Dom0 is configured with iommu=1 and iommu=verbose parameters and

[PATCH][next] nouveau/gsp: replace zero-length array with flex-array member and use __counted_by
Fake flexible arrays (zero-length and one-element arrays) are deprecated,
and should be replaced by flexible-array members. So, replace
zero-length array with a flexible-array member in `struct
PACKED_REGISTRY_TABLE`.
Also annotate array `entries` with `__counted_by()` to prepare for the
coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the `__counted_by` attribute.
Flexible array members annotated with

[LLVMdev] How to read v3.3 dbg metadata using v3.4 LLVM
Hi,
I have bitcode files built by LLVM v3.3 and need to process them using v3.4
tools. While I don't expect a lot of backward compatibility in LLVM,
luckily it seems everything's working fine, except for reading source line
information attached to instructions. I use this piece of code [0] to get
source line information. For v3.4, instruction.getMetadata returns NULL.
I used llvm-dis to

[LLVMdev] How to read v3.3 dbg metadata using v3.4 LLVM
Thanks Eric, but could you give me a little bit more hints or pointers
please? I looked into DebugInfo.h, but I'm still not sure how to start. It
sounds like I'd have to somehow manually extract metadata nodes from an
instruction.
Thanks,
JS

[LLVMdev] Specify the default target when configuring LLVM
We have added our own proprietary target to LLVM and up until recently it
was configured only for this target. I now build it to include additional
targets and this all works fine, I just need to specify the associated
triple when compiling and the correct code-generator is selected.
But I would like to have it default to the triple for our processor when no
triple is specified, and while I can

Powernow-k8 support
Hi,
I recently subscribed to xen-users asking about a powernow-k8 problem,
but in the meantime I am not sure if the users-list was the right place
for it. So I decided to repeat my question here ;-)
My current config is attached.

Hi,
I recently installed Xen on my AMD64 for my first time and so far,
everything seems to work pretty fine. :-)

[PATCH v2 2/4] gpio: fail if gpu external power is missing
Please add a config override to skip this, since we'll invariably get
it wrong for some setup, and should be able to provide users with
workarounds while the issue is being worked out.

Hello,
I''m building a dom0 system from sources and facing a problem with the

domain. Now comes the problem: the Xorg server using either vesa or

[LLVMdev] Bug in Language Reference? %0 versus %1 as starting index.
The language reference states that local temporaries begin with index 0,
but if I try that on my not-entirely-up-to-date v3.4 llc (it is like a week
old), I get an error "instruction expected to be numbered '%1'".
Also, quite a few examples in the LR uses %0 as a local identifier.
Should I fix those or is it a problem in llc?
