[PATCH v2 0/4] XEN: fix vmx exception mistake
Changes from v1: - Define new struct hvm_trap to represent information of trap, include instruction length. - Renames hvm_inject_exception to hvm_inject_trap. Then define a couple of wrappers around that function for existing callers, so that their parameter lists actually *shrink*. This series of patches fix the mistake for debug exception(#DB), overflow exception(#OF) and INT3(#BP),

[PATCH v3] Fix the mistake of exception execution
Fix the mistake for debug exception(#DB), overflow exception(#OF; generated by INTO) and int 3(#BP) instruction emulation. For INTn (CD ib), it should use type 4 (software interrupt). For INT3 (CC; NOT CD ib with ib=3) and INTO (CE; NOT CD ib with ib=4), it should use type 6 (software exception). For other exceptions (#DE, #DB, #BR, #UD, #NM, #TS, #NP, #SS, #GP, #PF, #MF, #AC, #MC, and #XM), it

[PATCH] x86-64: drop updating of UREGS_rip when converting sysenter to #GP
This was set to zero immediately before the #GP injection code, since SYSENTER doesn''t really have a return address. Reported-by: Ian Campbell <Ian.Campbell@citrix.com> Furthermore, UREGS_cs and UREGS_rip don''t need to be written a second time, as the PUSHes above already can/do take care of putting in place the intended values. [PATCH] tools/firmware: remove "_PS0/3" Method
tools/firmware: remove "_PS0/3" Method Do not expose the ACPI power management "_PS0/3" Method to guest firmware. According to section 3.4 of the APCI specification 4.0, PCI device control the device power through its own specification but not through APCI. Qemu pushes "_PS0/3" to guest will cause a mess between ACPI PM and PCI PM as a result of incorrect ACPI table

[PATCH v3] xen/tools: Add 64 bits big bar support
Currently it is assumed PCI device BAR access < 4G memory. If there is such a device whose BAR size is larger than 4G, it must access > 4G memory address. This patch enable the 64bits big BAR support on hvmloader. v3 changes from v2: - Remain original print information v2 changes from v1 as comments by Jan. 1) Set Dynamic MMIO high memory address instead of a fixed number 640G 2) Mask

[PATCH] Limit MCG Cap
Intercept guest reads of MSR_IA32_MCG_CAP and limit the number of memory banks reported to one. This prevents us from trying to read status of non-existent banks when migrated to a machine with fewer banks. GPU passthrough issue when VM is configured with 4G memory
Hi,all I have tried to passthrough GPU card(Nvidia quadro 4000) on the latest Xen unstable version (QEMU is using Qemu-upsteam-unstable, not traditional Qemu). This issue as below: Windows7 64-bit guest will blue screen when GPU passthrough configure 4g memory, blue screen code is 50, and SUSE 11 64-bit guest will always stay at the grub screen. I noticed that it will relocate RAM that

[PATCH 0/3] x86: adjust entry frame generation
This set of patches converts the way frames gets created from using PUSHes/POPs to using MOVes, thus allowing (in certain cases) to avoid saving/restoring part of the register set. While the place where the (small) win from this comes from varies between CPUs, the net effect is a 1 to 2% reduction on a combined interruption entry and exit when the full state save can be avoided. 1: use MOV

[PATCH v3 0/4] Nested VMX: APIC-v related bug fixing
From: Yang Zhang <yang.z.zhang@Intel.com> The following patches fix the issue that fail to boot L2 guest on APIC-v available machine. The main problem is that with APIC-v, virtual interrupt inject L1 is totally through APIC-v. But if virtual interrupt is arrived when L2 is running, L1 will detect interrupt through vmexit with reason external interrupt. If this happens, we should update

[PATCH RFC v13 00/20] Introduce PVH domU support
This patch series is a reworking of a series developed by Mukesh Rathor at Oracle. The entirety of the design and development was done by him; I have only reworked, reorganized, and simplified things in a way that I think makes more sense. The vast majority of the credit for this effort therefore goes to him. This version is labelled v13 because it is based on his most recent series, v11.

can dom0 modify Shadow PT of HVM domU?
Hi all, Can Xen hypervisor modify HVM domU's Shadow page table, under the dom0's context, like trapped from dom0's hypercall? I think it have to call 2 functions at least: guest_walk_tables() and flush_tlb_all(). Can these 2 functions called in dom0's context? In my test, if hypervisor tries to modify HVM's shadow page table, it will bring down the whole system. I am not

Hi James I have installed the gplpv_XP_0.11.0.238.msi on the WinXP in the Xen 3.3 domU, and I found that it will blue screen and reboot automatically when I using the command : <xm mem-set domId mem-size> , if the mem-size is much smaller or bigger, which threshold or which scope could be appropriate in this situation, looking forward to your reply, thank you very much!
