FW: [patch 0/4]Enable CMCI (Corrected Machine Check Error Interrupt) for Intel CPUs
Hi, All
Following 4 patches are for enabling CMCI of Intel CPUs in XEN.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Patch 1: remove_intel_mce_old.patch is to remove old p4/p6 files. The reason is that machine check architecture for Intel families including p4/p6/latest are similar. We need not keep duplicated codes.
Patch 2: change_stop_machine_run.patch changes

[patch 3/3]Enable CMCI (Corrected Machine Check Error Interrupt) for Intel CPUs
Hi, all
Patch3: Enable CMCI for Intel CPUs -- main patch for CMCI support
This patch is the main patch for CMCI enabling in XEN. It removes the old p4/p6 mce files, adds those removed logic to intel common part. Also it adds the new CMCI/MCA intel specific init/interrupt processing, CMCI owner judge algorithm when (bring up CPUs /CPU hotplugs), as well as polling mechanisms, etc.
Thanks &

CMCI exceptions happened and MCE entry state transition made Xen crashed.
Hi all,
Three days ago, the server reported lots of CMCI exceptions and Xen 3.4.2 printed hundreds of "CMCI: send CMCI to DOM0 through virq" messages to the console . From the console output, Then I can see that Dom0 try to read the MSR_CAP regs by #GP trap in order to log the MCA error.
I am not sure why so many CMCI happened , maybe there were some thing wrong with the hardware.

[PATCH] Cleanup vmx vmexit handler.
Cleanup vmx vmexit handler.
Current code doesn''t handle vmexits caused by triple fault, INIT, SIPI,
etc, which are listed in IA32 Architecture System Programming Guide 2,
Appendix I VMX Basic Exit Reasons, and calls __hvm_bug() when not
handling such cases, actually domain crash should be good enough.
Also various coding style cleanups.

[patch 1/4]Enable CMCI (Corrected Machine Check Error Interrupt) for Intel CPUs
Hi,Keir
This patch (Patch 1) is for removing old p4/p6 MCA files. P4/P6 and latest families actually have similar MCA architecture so we cleanup duplicated code.
Thanks& Regards,
Criping

[PATCH v6 69/76] x86/realmode: Setup AP jump table
From: Tom Lendacky <thomas.lendacky at amd.com>
As part of the GHCB specification, the booting of APs under SEV-ES
requires an AP jump table when transitioning from one layer of code to
another (e.g. when going from UEFI to the OS). As a result, each layer
that parks an AP must provide the physical address of an AP jump table
to the next layer via the hypervisor.
Upon booting of the

Problems with power management
I do not seem to be able to get any where with the power management
functions. I have had a look at the xenpm Wiki page, but it hasn''t
helped. Its probably something completely obvious, but I can''t see it.

vpmu=1 and running 'perf top' within a PVHVM guest eventually hangs dom0 and hypervisor has stuck vCPUS. Romley-EP (model=45, stepping=2)
This issue I am encountering seems to only happen on multi-socket
machines.
It also does not help that the only multi-socket box I have is
an Romley-EP (so two socket SandyBridge CPUs). The other
SandyBridge boxes I''ve (one socket) are not showing this. Granted
they are also a different model (42).
The problem is that when I run ''perf top'' within an SMP PVHVM
guest,

c7 xen-4.6 crash.
?I wrote about this a couple months back.? George asked me to submit to the Xen developers list, but I never had the time due to work demands on getting the new server set up.? In my case, I had to use a different server.? The new motherboard/CPU had no issues with the second CPU.? If you turn off and unplug the second CPU, it will work.

[PATCH v3 73/75] x86/sev-es: Support CPU offline/online
From: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de>
Add a play_dead handler when running under SEV-ES. This is needed
because the hypervisor can't deliver an SIPI request to restart the AP.
Instead the kernel has to issue a VMGEXIT to halt the VCPU. When the
hypervisor would deliver and SIPI is wakes up the VCPU instead.

new install of Xen 4.6 hangs on Loading initial ramdisk
?Not sure if this actually made it to the list the first time.?
Here is the SERIAL output (bottom of message after your questions).? Googling the error indicates it's something people ran into a few years back but was supposedly fixed.? Any ideas?
I can verify that if I REMOVE the second CPU, it boots into Xen kernel no problem.? The CPU itself doesn't matter, as I can swap either
