Heterogeneous XCP 1.6 pool
Hi, I''ve been trying to use E5520 and X5650 together in an heterogeneous pool without success. I know the combination is not on the official XenServer supported list (http://hcl.xensource.com/CPUPoolsList.aspx), but I thought it would be possible to set the mask anyway and see for myself if the combination works… My problem is that the mask doesn''t "stick" after a

XCP vs Xen on CentOS and Dell OpenManage
Hello, I just tried out XCP and I was surprised to see it looks pretty much like Xen from Citrix. Based on the RPM packages installed, I assume XCP is based on RHEL5. With that in mind, I have a few questions that I did not find an answer on the web... Perhaps I didn''t look in the right places, so if you know about any good documentations that I should read please share it :)

XCP - xenserver tools required?
One of the issues I''ve had using XenServer in a multitenant environment is the requirement for the VMs to have xentools installed as it causes significant issues when upgrading the VM OS or the pool from one version of XenServer (XCP) to another. Having to touch hundreds VMs (by hand) after an upgrade just doesn''t scale nor is delegating the task to VM owners an option.

Patches to support iSCSI in xcp-storage-managers
Hi, attached I have some patches which add support for iSCSI LVMoISCSI to the xcp-storage-managers package. The patches are based on the Debian git repository. I have tested my changes and everything seems to work fine. The tests are done on a three node XCP pool with multipath. I haven't tested the changes without multipath. Maybe someone could take a look on the patches and give me some

XCP Debi an - ISCSI support?
I have Kronos setup fine. I have installed open-iscsi and setup the system as an initiator. However, I cannot seem to get xapi to allow me to setup the target as an SR. Wanted: XCP 1.1 tutorial for creating VMs from scratch using xe CLI
Hello, It is nearly not possible to use XCP without a tutorial, in particular if ones has to use the xe CLI. Reading of reference.pdf and guests.pdf of XenServer and different wiki pages didn''t help enough. Even *XCP seems to be a very good software* it will be useless without good documentation because of it''s complexity. Thank you in advance for any hints. Regards, Mark

local storage caching xen cloud 1.0
Hello all, I have found the commands for enabling this feature but is there any additional documentation that is specific to XCP 1.0? Such as monitoring current usage (is it doing anything), maybe even a graph in xencenter that shows trends of usage? Found on http://docs.vmd.citrix.com/XenServer/5.6.0fp1/1.0/en_gb/installation.html xe host-disable host=<*hostname*> localsr=`xe sr-list

Any GUI for XCP?
Hello, I am trying/evaluating XCP to manage our virtualization servers. Now, I have installed it in a test server and as far as I can see, it is very similar to XenServer, but I can''t manage it with XenCenter graphical console. Is there any GUI for XCP? I could connect with OpenXenCenter, but it still isn''t mature to be useful. Or do I have to use with xe commands? --
