[PATCH] hotplug: add openvswitch script
Based on Waldi''s RFC at
http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2012-09/msg00943.html
To use it set vif.default.script="vif-openvswitch" in /etc/xen/xl.conf or use
script=vif-openvswitch in the vif configuration.
Appears to do the right thing for PV and HVM guests (including tap devices)
and with stubdomains.
In order to support VLAN tagging and trunking the

xl and vifname
Hello,
While using xen 4.1-testing.hg (r23202) I noticed that the ''vifname''
config value is not handled by xl, but is handled by xm. Is there a
workaround or patch for this? My firewall and scripts depend on static
vifnames.
XM works good - it adds multiple interfaces to multiple bridges and
configures them appropriately. But with xl it differs -- here only tap

Xen 4 + Debian Squeeze + one VM in route mode and another in nat mode
Hello,
I''ve installed on a debian squeeze server, xen 4 with one VM which run
in route mode configuration with an IP failover.
I wanted to create another VM which turn in nat mode, so I make that :
- I let my xend-config.sxp with :
(network-script ''network-route netdev=eth0'')
(vif-script vif-route)
because my first VM is the most important....
For the second, I

Kernel modules errors and weird xl behavior with Xen 4.1
Hello,
I''m using Gentoo Linux amd64 with the 2.6.34-xen-r4 kernel from portage.
I''ve been successfully using Xen 4.0 for almost a year, but now it
seems that with the dawn of Xen 4.1, the package maintainers have
forces unstable users to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1
Looking forward to try the new xl interface, I installed it, but there
seem to be a few problems with xen-4.1

memory and cpu usage
Is there a way to discovery how much free memory I still have
to use in a new domain?
Another question is about cpu usage. I guess that xen scheduler
allocate a fixed time slice for all virtual machines and does not
make any idea if the virtual machine is using or not using all
this time, right? How I can identify if CPU is the bottleneck?
Thanks!

I also tried "xl create -c", and it shows console from pygrub but when

[PATCH v2 0/5] xl: allow for node-wise specification of vcpu pinning
Hi all,
This is the second take of a patch that I submitted some time ago for allowing
specifying vcpu pinning taking NUMA nodes into account. IOW, something like
this:
* "nodes:0-3": all pCPUs of nodes 0,1,2,3;
* "nodes:0-3,^node:2": all pCPUS of nodes 0,1,3;
* "1,nodes:1-2,^6": pCPU 1 plus all pCPUs of nodes 1,2
but not pCPU 6;
v1 was a single patch, this is

no console when using xl toolstack xen 4.1.2
Hello!
I was asking for help on the Freenode channel, and I was pointed here.
I have a situation where, using xl, I can create a functional PV domU, with or without pv-grub, but I cannot access the console. Firing up xend and using xm works without trouble. Since xend and company is being deprecated, I would like to transition to using the xl toolstack.
The system is an Arch Linux system

Network with xen 4.2
Hallo Mailinglist:),
i used xen 4.1 with xend xm a while. I compiled the unstable 4.2 today and most thinks run fine :). I have only one big problem, the network for my guestsystems. It don't want to work. Hopefully somebody can help me.
In Xen 4.1 i only wrote the following line in my questconfig:
vif = [ "bridge=eth0,script=vif-bridge" ]
And everything works fine. This does not

xl doesn't honour the parameter cpu_weight from my config file while xm does honour it
Hi,
I''ve installed xen-unstable 4.2 from actual git (last commit was
4dc7dbef5400f0608321d579aebb57f933e8f707).
When I start a domU with xm all is fine include the cpu_weight I
configured in my domU config.
When I start the domU with xl then all my domU have the default
cpu_weight of 256 instead of the configured one.
Was the name of cpu_weight being changed for xl command ?
