networking issues - internet facing guest interfaces
I have the following networking setup: - eth0 and eth1 corresponding to the physical ports on the host NIC - bond0 which enslaves eth0 + eth1 - br0 which attaches bond0 - xenbr0 - xenbr5 all of which are internal only networks (10.0.0.0; 10.1.1.0; etc) Br0 is used both for the host to access the outside world as well as DomUs acting as gateway machines for each xenbr network. For example the

Xen4.2-rc1 test result
Hi All, We did a round testing for Xen 4.2 RC1 (CS#25692) with Linux 3.4.7 dom0. We covered VT-d, SR-IOV, Power Management, TXT, IVB new features, HSW new features. We covered many cases for HVM guests (both Redhat Linux and MS Windows guest). We tested on Westmere-EP, SandyBridge-EP, IvyBridge desktop, and Haswell hardware platforms. We found no new issues, and verified 1 fixed bug. Fixed bug

lmer Error: Downdated X'X is not positive definite
Hi, This is the first time I've posted, and I apologize if I formulate this incorrectly. I am analyzing data from a multi-region carrot variety trial. 35 varieties of carrots were grown in 3 randomized complete blocks in organic and conventional fields in Wisconsin, Indiana, Washington, and California. In this example I am comparing the heights of the carrot tops at harvest. In other

xen4.2 + qemu-upstream domain rename partial failure (& migration)
I am seeing a problem with domain renames which I think affects everything running with the upstream qemu xen DM. If I create a domain, and then rename it, it renames in the xenstore, but it does not rename in qemu. This means that (interalia) the name on a VNC connection is incorrect. I am seeing this with a migration (where a libxl_domain_rename is done from "name--incoming" to

Help connecting to SOCKS5 proxy server with Open SSH
My desire is to form a connection from my laptop running ubuntu to a SOCKS5 server listed on the Internet. I have read the Ubuntu man page on OpenSSH client program. The description indicates that I have to connect to given host name (assumed to be an ip address?) with optional username. I want the server receive my Internet traffic in SOCKS5 protocol and respond to my computer the requested

XL: pv guests dont reboot after migration (xen4.1.2-rc2-pre)
A pv guest will not reboot after migration, the guest itself does everything right, including the shutdown, but xl does not recreate the guest, it just shuts it down. This goes for 2.6.39 and 3.0.4 guest kernels, havent tried different ones. I also haven tried different xen versions. Dont know if this would affect hvm, probably not since qemu leaves the guest running and does a

[PATCH]Extending user@host syntax
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, the following patch extends the user at host syntax on the ssh command line to allow an additional HostKeyAlias and Port to be given as a single argument, eg: ssh user at localhost%8022,www.tdl.com is equivalent to ssh -o 'HostKeyAlias www.tdl.com' -p 8022 user at localhost The patch is particularly useful when ssh is called from

inFocus Liteshow Manager for wireless projecting from laptop
Hey all, I'm new to the forums, but not new to Wine/Linux. I'm having a bit of an issue. Playing with winetricks, I've gotten the Liteshow Manager install file to start and install up to 70% where it then fails. The application itself stays open, but it lets me know the installation fails. There's no logfile or explanation of why it fails. I'm able to wirelessly connect to

[PATCH] permitremoteopen - to limit remote port forwarding per user
Hi, Here is a patch to limit reverse port forwarding(-R) per user/key on the server. For example add: permitremoteopen="8023" ssh-dss AAAAB3NzaC1kc3MAAACBAOUE.. in user's ~/.ssh/authorized_keys server will limit -R to port 8023 only. an example of violation. ssh -v -R 8022:127.0.0.1:22 -i.ssh/id_dsa foo at 10.0.0.1 debug1: Remote: Server denied remote port forward request.

openssh-9.9p1 problem with faillock pam module
Dear developers, Our server implements two SSH services on ports 22 & 8022, with different PAM settings. The daemon is built from source of OpenSSH portable releases. Following the instructions in the INSTALL file, we made a copy of "<prefix>/sbin/sshd" (for port 22) as "<prefix>/sbin/sshd2" (for port 8022), created a separate "sshd2_config" file,

Idea for feature recursive ssh: "scp file user1@gateway:user2@server:"
[I sent this email to the list in January but haven't seen it appear. Maybe it didn't get through moderation?] How many times have I typed in one window ssh -L 8022:server:22 user1 at gateway only so that I can type (in another window!) scp -P 8022 file user2 at localhost: This is a pain: * cumbersome * requires two commands windows * confuses ssh's host key
