Does xen-4.2.0 support VGA passthrough with the virtual machine created by xl command?
Hi, everyone!
I am working on xen-4.2.0 with spice remote connect. My host is Fedora 14
and guest is win7.
I have installed spice package and now I can connect to guest by spice
client.
For better graphics experience, I want to try the VGA passthrough.
With spice tool, I have to create a VM by xl command, and now I am
wondering if it supports VGA passghrouth?
If so, how should I test it ?

usbpassthrough of xen-4.1.2
Hi, everyone!
I am working on the USB passthrough of Xen-4.1.2. My host OS is Fedora 14
and the guest OS is win7.
According to the wiki page(http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Xen_USB_Passthrough),
xen supports passthrough of usb device from dom0 to guests. I have tried
the Xen HVM guest qemu-dm usb1.1 emulation,
by specifying "usb = 1" and "usbdevice = host:xxxx:yyyy". But, the

VGA passthrough with Xen 4.3 and xl toolstack - performance degradation resolved?
Hello,
Hope you can help. A while ago users noted performance degradation or dom0 stability issues when shuting down a HVM guest that uses VGA passthrough (e.g. Windows 7), and booting up the guest again. A workaround was to eject the graphics card within Windows, before shutting down the guest. This process is described here: http://blog.ktz.me/?p=219.
I tried to follow those instructions, but

PCI Passthrough question (xm->xl migration in Xen 4.2.2)
In XM toolchain, we use to put pci = [ ''0000:07:11.6=0@1a'' ] but looks like
in XL toolchain there is no way to specify function in the guest.
Kindly let me know.
XM - pci = [ ''0000:07:11.6=0@1a'' ]
XL - pci = [ ''0000:07:11.6@1a'' ]
In the guest VM we see that PCI device is getting 0 function in both the
cases however, it may not work the

VGA Passthrough crashes machine
I''ve just had my first attempt at getting VGA passthrough to work, and
it crashed the machine. I''m trying to understand whether this is a
problem with my hardware, configuration or a software problem.
I''m running Xen 4.1.2 with Linux 3.1.2

Re: Virtual gaming/workstation desktops using KVM VGA passthrough?
Hi Alex,
The first bit of advice that I was about to give was that you should
have a look at a particular thread on the Arch Linux user forum. But
as it turns out, the article that you found (which seems really
well-written) already mentions that thread, and in fact even links to
one of my comments on that thread, namely this comment:

xl create bug on first-attempt with passthrough
Hello,
I recently swapped some components, and rebuilt my system.
Changes to the configuration:
- Wheezy Beta 1 > Wheezy Beta 2
- Kernel 3.4.9 > Kernel 3.4.11
I have tested the new Xen 4.2 stable, and Xen unstable revision 25777, both
are giving me the same error so I do not believe it is related to a change
in Xen.
The first attempt to pass a PCI device after booting the system

Xen 4.2.1. Intel Integrated VGA passthrough. BSOD in Windows guests.
Hello,
I configured xen with enabled passthrough primary VGA card (Intel Integrated
graphic controller HD 3000) and audio controller (Intel HD audio) to hvm
guest.
I also installed GPLPV drivers to improve performance.
And it works for Windows XP (x86) and Windows 7 (x86_64).
But I get a BSOD, when I try to load a disk or network subsystem or start
Windows 7 performance test.
Steps to reproduce

Dom0 freeze on HVM DomU Windows reboot with VGA passthrough
Hi,
I''m doing VGA passthrough for an ATI (HD 6770) graphics card to
a DomU Windows. The passthrough itself is working. However, everytime
when I reboot the DomU Windows, the whole machine freezes.
I see no error messages from Dom0 kernel or the xen qemu log
(or perhaps I haven''t got the most verbose debugging turned on?).
Though from what I can tell, the the freeze happens

Virtual gaming/workstation desktops using KVM VGA passthrough?
Dear List,
Recently I read an article [1] about how to use KVM and VGA passthrough to
create multiple GPU accelerated VM's for use in gaming or as virtual
workstations:

http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Multiheaded-NVIDIA-Gaming-using-Ubuntu-14-04-KVM-585/
I'm planning on building a KVM workstation to do this using CentOS 7 or
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS as the base virtualization host

I''ve been trying to set up a VGA-passthrough on my Ubuntu 12.04 box to run
Windows (for gaming) while leaving my RAID-5 array available (managed by
Linux). First, here are the machine specs:

GPU: APU-integrated AMD Radeon 6550 (shared memory)
Mobo: ASUS F1A75-V EVO with AMD-virtualization enabled in UEFI-BIOS
