GRUB boot parameters: dom0_mem
I''ve installed Xen Hypervisor 3.0.3 (CentOS 5.7, i386) inside Virtualbox 4.1.16 (Mageia 1, i686) and have noticed that Dom0 is consuming 85% of the memory allocated to the VM (1GB) so I''d like to reduce this as much as possible in order to make more room for one or two VM''s.
Is there a minimum amount of vRAM that can/should be allocated to Dom0 (using the dom0_mem boot

Nested Virtualization: XCP-1.5 on VirtualBox 4.1.16
1. I''d like to experiment with XCP by creating a nested arrangment - XCP on VirtualBox - but need to know what "version" of Linux to specify when creating the VM.
2. I''m currently using a 32-bit host. (Mageia-1 is/was only available as a 32-bit O/S when I installed it.) Does XCP require a 64-bit architecture?

Installing XCP from USB thumb drive
Has anyone experimented with installing XCP from a USB thumb drive? Is it possible? How was the installation media installed to the USB thumb drive (e.g., dd)?

HA-OCFS2?
Is it possible to create a highly-available OCFS2 cluster (i.e., A storage cluster that mitigates the single point of failure [SPoF] created by storing an OCFS2 volume on a single LUN)?
The OCFS2 Project Page makes this claim...
> OCFS2 is a general-purpose shared-disk cluster file system for Linux capable of
providing both high performance and high availability.

XenSummit 2012
I''m new to Xen and I''ve never attended XenSummit but I did look at the Presentations & Videos and the Agenda from 2011 and I''m wondering if XenSummit 2012 be a good venue for learning more about designing, deploying, and managing Xen-based clouds? (The XenSummit 2012 agenda hasn''t been published yet.)

assigning sections of iscsi for virtual hard drives . should go about
assigning Should I export the whole 8TB as one iscsi and then use lvm to
create smaller virtual disk. Or should I

xen 3.2 network problems
Hi,
I try to get networking running with xen 3.2, but it seems I fail miserably.
I am on sles10sp1, with xen 3.2.0, and kernel rpm''s installed from SP2.
I configured in /etc/sysconfig/network the NETWORK_LIST:
NETWORK_LIST="bridge,0,default,00:DE:AD:BE:EF,192.168.8.13/24,dhcp-off"
but an ifconfig xenbr0 still shows the mac address of peth0
fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff.
Initially, I

bridge with IP address, "received packet with own address as source address"
Hi,
I''ve set up identical (what I think) machines using SLES 10 x86_64, but a new one
of those is saying frequently in /var/log/messages:
kernel: bond0: received packet with own address as source address
A short summary of ifconfig looks like this:

inet addr:132.199.176.78 Bcast:132.199.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0

CentOS 6.4 kickstart bonding
Hi all,
Someone played with kickstart bonding with centos 6.4 ?
CentOS 6.4, as upstream now support ifcae bonding in kickstart network section.
I've an issue with configuring a second bonding iface in kicstart on CentOS 6.4. The first bonding (bond0) works as espected but the second is not configured during installation. I've a 6 nic server (two for "puclic" network, two for

Re: Problems to start a xen DomU using a logical volume.
Hi guys,
I followed this article to install my first xen project to compare its
CPU/memory and I/O performance with a kvm domain on CentOS 6.4.
http://www.virtuatopia.com/index.php/Building_a_Xen_Virtual_Guest_Filesystem_on_a_Disk_Image_%28Cloning_Host_System%29
In the initial tests whit super.pi benchmarck the CPU performance of my xen
domai was extremely worst than my kvm domain.

HTB and BOND Interface
Hi!
Is it HTB fully compatible with BOND interface?
I have this setup (mode= fault tolerance) :
BOND0 -> ETH0 + ETH1
BOND1 -> ETH2 + ETH3
( http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/marcelo/linux-2.4/Documentation/networking/bonding.txt
)
HTB work very well with Class over BOND0.
If I add Class for BOND1 it generate balance errors.
Also with HTB.init

NetworkManger creates extra bonds; is this a bug?
Hi All,
I see an unexpected beahviour from NetworkManager on CentOS 7.1.
Using nmcli tool, I create a bond with two slaves as explained in the Red
Hat 7.1 Networking guide. I enable slaves and master; bond works as
expected.
When I restart NetworkManager, it creates a new bond with the same name but
not connected to any device. Two bonds with the same name is confusing for
my other monitoring

True bond howto for Centos 6
Hi all,
Read many posts on the subject.
Using 802.3ad.
Few problems;
Cannot ping some hosts on the network, they are all up.
Cannot resolve via DNS which is one of the hosts that I cannot ping, internal nor external DNS hosts.
Unplugging the NICS and plugging them back in will then not allow pining if the default d=gateway.
When cold booting it somewhat works, some hosts are pingable while

Possible bug in kickstart
Hello All,
I seem to have run into a bug with the new --bridgeslaves=<INTERFACE> option. It would seem that if I tell the bridge device to use a virtual interface (like bond0) rather than a physical interface (em1/em2) that kickstart completely barfs on it. I have provided my network section below which works fine as long as i don't enable all the bridge content.
When the
