HVM ignoring vcpus parameter
Hi, I am using Xen 4 under Debian Squeeze. I want to use Windows 2008 x86 with HVM, but only one vcpu allocated when vm started. After increasing vcpus number (vcpus = ''4'') in cfg, at start ignored that parameter, xm list VCPUs show only 1. Why does not able to increase the vcpus? Any idea?:) p.s: if using pvm linux, then the vcpus parameter is ok, increased successfully when I

Xen very very slow on workstation HP Z4000
Hello, To thank you for telling me if this message is not posted on the good list. After installing Xen 4 on a workstation HP Z400, the hypervisor is extremely slow, both on a Fedora machine on a Debian Squeeze, whether in 32-bit or 64-bit version. Unable to install a DomU. The problem seems to come from the hardware configuration of the HP Z400 - Xeon - W3550-4 processors - 16 GB of

Re: Fwd: Haswell 4770 misidentified as Sandy Bridge
Kashyap: I have not tried integrating your guest xml but I will look over it today when I get a chance. Thank you. Martin: Below is the output from /proc/cpuinfo. Let me know if there is anything else that would be helpful in debugging this. Hi, I'm running CentOS 5.5 (on ThinkPad x61). I use KVM to run a SLES 11.0 (32bits, kernel 2.6.27.19-5-pae) guest. The "cat /proc/cpuinfo" got the result: processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 6 model name : QEMU Virtual CPU version 0.9.1 stepping : 3 cpu MHz : 0.000 cache size : 32 KB fdiv_bug : no

More than doubling performance with snow
Hey my R buddies, I installed the "snow" and "rpvm" package on my Lenovo Thinkpad T400 today. The experiment below gave me a surprise. The time consumed by serial processing was several times larger than that taken by parallel processing. I'm very curious how this happened. Thank you very much. > library(snow) > > cc <- makePVMcluster(2) > > temp <-

I've a dual core system (see /proc/cpuinfo at the end) running CentOS 4.4 (fully up-to-date) and I'm running a PHP script that's parsing files and dumping the results into a database. Which g729 module for HP DL 360 G3 (Xeon CPU's)?
I am running a HP DL360 G3 ans want to know the optimal g729 module for it. There don't seem to be any optimised for Xeon's. I am currently using i686, but is there a better one to match my Xeon CPU's? Segfaults on K7
I'm running your debian packages on a K7 currently. They seem to be working fine, including the xmms-flac package. I seem to be experiencing the same flac decoding problems (state=6:FLAC__FILE_DECODER_STREAM_ERROR) as Pritpaul Mahal, however. I'll see if I can reproduce these. It could just be a problem with my old FLAC files (from 0.9 and before). This K7 doesn't segfault on flac

Running libvirt on a virtualized server
Hi everyone I'm trying to create a virtual machine using OpenNebula [1] on a centos 6.4 server, but i'm facing some erros using kvm / libvirt. This server is running on a virtual machine created on XCP. Then, my infrastructure is: XCP 1.6 (hypervisor - dom0) + CentOS 6.4 (running on a XCP VM) + OpenNebula 4.0.1 (installed on CentOS). In the host machine, I have the same infrastructure.

Hi, This is just to report about the "alignment check: 0000 [#1] SMP" kernel messages in one of my build system (domU) running Scientific Linux 6.1. I am compiling/rpm package for sbcl (http://sbcl.sourceforge.net/) in my build system (domU) and hit the following kernel messages although the domU in question still running and compilation still in progress. I have done some searching

Xen3: Unable to start xenU with Intel Core Duo T2050
I have problems to get Xen 3.0 working on my notebook (FSC AMILO Pro V3205). I already used different operating systems for the xen0 domain, like FC5, SUSE 10.1 und Debian SID (2.6.16-2-xen-smp) but i always run into the same trouble. When I try to start a xenU domain it always hangs and I get this: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- debian37:~# xm create

quadBRI PCI ISDN on Suse Linux 10
Hello, I am trying to install the drivers for the Junghanns quadBRI card, but am having a problem. I have essentially followed the procedure from http://www.voip-manager.net/installation-linux-asterisk.php. At the stage to install the ISDN card I have completed the following: 1) downloaded the bristuff-0.2.0-RC8q.tar.gz to /usr/src 2) unpacked it in /usr/src - tar xvzf bristuff-0.2.0-RC8q.tar.gz

create with virt-install hangs
Hi I am just starting with xen and trying to get a few vm''s running on this pentium 4 system. I tried using virt-install to start things. I am using this link as the install base: ftp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/i386/os/ , and a local file as hard drive. What happens is that virt-install downloads the kernel, boots, a VNC window for the new VM appears, but it

I got a new Athlon recently, and to my surprise, FLAC started segfaulting, even when recompiled. The problem goes away if I build with --disable-asm-optimizations. Has anyone else had problems of this sort? Here are the specs on the processor: processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 6 model : 4 model name : AMD Athlon(tm) Processor stepping :

Audio problems on Zap & SIP, local network, not IRQ related?
I am trying to get to the bottom of audio clicks, pops, dropouts with my Asterisk server. These occur even when the system is under minimal load (e.g. 1 Zap device in a queue being played music on hold) and occurs with both Zap and Sip devices so isn't network related. The audio problems occur at the same time on all channels and seems to be when Asterisk "gets busy" and uses
