DomUs hidden behind Dom0 in the network?
Hello, I am trying to set up a PVM (a the moment Ubuntu as guest and Ubuntu server as Dom0). The main issue is that the DomUs can''t get direct net access, because the access is restricted by a DHCP server that also functions as proxy to the outside of the network. The server controls the MAC address and only http is allowed as outgoing connection. So the domUs shouldn''t appear

Hi colleagues, it seems i've hit a bug in SAMBA as follows: The local windows network admin of our local radio station filled / transferred some user account data into our new FreeNAS by the Win RSAT. We are setting up SAMBA as a PDC incl. directory service and use the current stable FreeNAS with its current SAMBA "4.3.6-GIT-UNKNOWN" One account name "produktion-a"

Disk IO tuning
I am using XenServer6, and I need to get performance equal or close to what we get on the hardware, especially with large files. Are there any hints host side or guest side to increase performance. What should I look at? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Can't boot ubuntu domU after installation
Hi! I''ve recently installed Xen on a laptop with Ubuntu 12.04. I''ve followed this guide (except for changing amd64 to i386): https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Xen I''m using LVM filesystem and I have managed to install Ubuntu as PV guest os, according to the "manually creating PV guest OS" in the guide. But, when the installation of the guest OS is done, I

Netbios over VPN
I am attempting to utilize BackupPC on a Fedora 14 server to backup a remote client. As I understand, it's primary mechanism for finding clients is performing a nmblookup <clientname> This works fine for computers connected to the local network. My issue is extending ?Samba's? search to encompass our other network - the point-to-point VPNs Using OpenVPN, we have a number of road

samba on ZFS
I don't believe that ZFS on FreeBSD supports acltype=posixacl and sa-based xattrs. For the record, the latest version of samba that I've been successfully able to compile on FreeBSD 10.3 is Samba 4.5.5. Xen boots to blank screen
It seems like there are several messages in the archive and in various forums about this problem, but I do not see a clear course of action for how to solve it. I am relatively new to Linux, compounding my problem. I just built a new machine for the express purpose of running Xen so my girlfriend and I could experiment and learn about different Linux distros. I am running on an Intel DG35EC

Dom0 hang on SuSE 9.3 IA64
I''m having problems booting Dom0 on an unbranded server. Server is running SuSE 9.3 x86_64 and has been working fine for a couple of years as a standard boot pc. I installed the 2.0.5c version of Xen which is part of the SuSE repository. I cannot boot into Xen though, booting Dom0 stops after: NET: Registered protocol family 16 I know from a normal boot that the next part is PCI

Boot fails unless "noacpi" option is present.
Hello, I am using Xen 3.2.1 and I cannot boot it on my machine unless I use the noacpi option. As far as I know noacpi option is incompatible with SMP, so I must not use it, because my machine is SMP. I am describing the problem in more detail below. If you could point me in the right direction, I''d greatly appreciate it. I downloaded Xen 3.2.1 official source distribution tarball from
