MMIO emulation failed & successful reboot
Hello list,
Did an update to the latest AMD drivers
(11-9_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl) and was pleasantly surprised to find
that I can reboot my passthrough domU!
Firstly, the reboot was triggered involuntarily shortly (20
seconds) AFTER the SUCCESSFUL driver update. The only thing logged was
this:
(XEN) io.c:194:d5 MMIO emulation failed @

[LLVMdev] How to translate library functions into LLVM IR bitcode?
Hi Johannes,
Actually, I'm working in the same scenario, i.e. configure + make of a
benchmark/program/library like you said. I've got your point of using this
script as a replacement to generate .bc files instead of a executable.
That's truly helpful and has already answered my original question.
Now I'm actually moving a step further. Take the same example in your
reply, say, if

[LLVMdev] How to translate library functions into LLVM IR bitcode?
Hello,
I run into a situation where I need to provide the library functions, such
as sqrt() from <math.h> and rand() from <stdlib.h>, in the format of LLVM
IR bitcode files. Then I can try to link the bitcode of my program against
these library bitcode files to formulate a holistic bitcode file.
However, these library functions are only available in object format. And
the source

[LLVMdev] How to translate library functions into LLVM IR bitcode?
Hi Johannes,
By following your directions, I can use your script as is to produce the
.bc file now. Here's my command line for compiling s_sin.c into s_sin.bc
file and the output:
command line:
~/Downloads/newlib-2.1.0/newlib/libm/mathfp » python ~/llvm_link.py s_sin.c
-I../common/ -I../../libc/include/ -o s_sin.bc
output:
Initiate CLANG (/path-to-clang):
Options: 's_sin.c

[LLVMdev] How to translate library functions into LLVM IR bitcode?
Good tips. Although I have used llvm-link to merge .bc files together, I
guess -flto could optimize the resultant .bc file further.
As for the assembly, yes it is an issue. Anyway, I'll try to address those
sources which are available for being translated into .bc first.
Thanks for your advice, Tim.

4.2 unstable kernel restarting before booting OS kernel
Hi all-
I''m using Ubuntu 12.04 and compiled unstable on revision
25605:9950f2dc2ee6, the compilation completed cleanly and I issued
sudo make install. I modified the grub entry for Xen 4.1 as follows:
menuentry ''Ubuntu GNU/Linux, with Xen 4.2-unstable and Linux 3.2.19''
--class ubuntu --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os --class xen {

[LLVMdev] How to translate library functions into LLVM IR bitcode?
Thanks for your reply, Yabin.
Actually I'm trying to come up with a way to translate any source code into
bitcode format. So some of them are not necessarily LLVM intrinsics. Also
it seems like that dynamically loading the library by dlopen() is for
loading object files, not .bc files. So it might not be useful for library
in .bc files.
Anyway, I've found a way to solve this by manually

Quadrified GTX 480 VT-d passthrough. CUDA 5.5 in Linux partial success
Hi everyone,
after following in the footsteps of the following discussion
(http://lists.xenproject.org/archives/html/xen-users/2013-09/msg00106.html)
I had been able to turn my GTX 480 into a Quadro 6000. When I VT-d
passthrough it to a Debian jessie VM it shows up fine and CUDA 5.5
seems to function properly up to a point:

Hi,
sure I can give you some info, but unfortunately as explained here
(http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-users/2012-06/msg00392.html),
dual vga is broken for me currently, too. But i guess this is only a
matter of finding the currupted changeset.
In general, I was never aware that this is even a problem. I used to
simply hide both graphic cards from the dom0 at boot time via the

Re: xm create: Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working. One more question.
Next question:-

pan0 8000.000000000000 no
virbr0 8000.000000000000 yes
Presence virbr0 in report seems strange. Direct port Xen 3.4.2 to F11 doesn''t install daemon
libvirtd ( bridge virbr0 ) , unless you wrote xen-3.4.2-(x).fc12.src.rpm yourself.
So , from where bridge virbr0 comes

Re: PCI/GPU Passthrough with xen
I know these are mostly gamers but they have a lot of experience doing
PCI pass though: https://discord.gg/du9ecG
I have found them extremely helpful in the past doing libvirt PCI
passthough.

Intel HD 4000 VGA passthrough not working
Hi all,
I have an i7-3770 which has the Intel HD 4000 graphics. I''ve been trying to pass it through to DomU with no success.
With a Linux DomU, the i915 module simply will not load because intel_agp is not loaded properly when it cannot find the AGP bridge. (
With a Win7 DomU, it BSODs straight away during the boot with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION.
With a WinXP DomU, it got further
