System reboots after "Scrubbing free RAM" Xen 4.0.1 linux 2.6.37-rc3
Hi Everyone I have sorted out the initial issues I''ve had and decided to give Xen another go. I''m trying to run Xen using kernel 2.6.37-rc3 (previous attempt with rc1 failed, and when I gave it a second go, rc3 was already out). As previously, 2.6.37-rc3 boots fine natively. 2.6.32 boots natively and under Xen as dom0, but I have reservations against running 2.6.32,

VGA passthrough - guest shows blank screen on startup
Greetings, I''m attempting to do gfx_passthru with the primary graphics adapter (03:00.0), passing it to a guest. I can unbind it from the host but when I fire up the guest OS my monitor loses signal from the graphics card and that''s that. The GFX card is dual DVI, I''ve tried both slots. Host is Linux 2.6.32.14-1.2.105.xendom0.fc12.x86_64, Guest is Windows 7. PC is an

Possible bug, dom0 crash on ubuntu
When booting a recently compiled Xen 4.2 on Ubuntu 12.04, dom0 crashes. I''ve included a serial console log below. I''ve used: Xen 4.2 unstable rev. 25483, compiled on the same machine. I had to apply the AT_EMPTY_PATH patch from http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2012-02/msg03460.html to get it to compile. Linux 3.2.0-25, which is the default kernel in Ubuntu''s

Failure to boot, Debian squeeze with 4.0.1 hypervisor, timer problems?
Hi, I have a system based on a Supermicro X8DTH-i motherboard and a Xeon E5506 CPU. It was previously running Debian lenny with xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64 (3.2.1-2) / linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 (2.6.26-29) without incident. I upgraded it to Debian squeeze, with xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 (4.0.1-4) / linux-image-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 (2.6.32-45) and now it does not complete a boot of the dom0

Xen 3.4.2 DomU Network Issues
I''ve got a new system with Dual Quad Core Intel E5520 processors and Intel 82576 NICs built on the motherboard (this is a Supermicro Nehalem based blade). I''m running Xen 3.4.2, but I''ve also tried 3.4.1 and had the same problem. Dom0''s network works flawlessly, but the DomU systems all have network issues. Whenever they transmit large packets, it is as if

Vt-d not working with 3.4.1
Hi folks, currently I try to setup a new xen host v3.4.1 on top of a Asus P5E-VM DO (latest BIOS, Vt-d capable and enabled in BIOS) to migrate my extisting HVMs (Win2k3 server) running on Xen v3.3.0 to a new home. I want to switch over to 3.4.1 to (hopefully!) passthrough my ISDN board to a HVM domU. Unfortunate there seem some issue with the VT-d DMAR tables which is beyond my knowledge and

Dovecot + DRBD/GFS mailstore
Hi guys, I'm looking at the possibility of running a pair of servers with Dovecot LDA/imap/pop3 using internal drives with DRBD and GFS (or other clustered FS) for the mail storage and ext3 for the root drive. I'm currently using maildrop for delivery and Dovecot imap/pop3 with the stores over NFS. I'm looking for better performance but still keeping the HA element I have now with

[LLVMdev] git Status
The Python language recently migrated from SVN to Mercurial as their version control system. As part of this effort, a detailed migration plan was written: http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0385/ Now, I'm not proposing that we favor using Mercurial over Git*. But I would suggest that perhaps you could use the Python migration plan as a template for LLVM's migration. (*I use both

[LLVMdev] Break operands into multiple instructions
Hi All, I am creating an instrumentation pass using LLVM libraries. I am using clang++ (version 2.9) to compile cpp code into LLVM bit code. When I generate the llvm bit code using clang++ using -O3, I get many instances of instructions that look like the following. br i1 icmp ne (i8* bitcast (i32 (i32)* @pthread_cancel to i8*), i8* null), label %bb23, label %bb25 Here three LLVM instructions

[LLVMdev] LLVM: Very simple question
Hi, guys. I'm a newbie to LLVM and have a very simple question. Which instructions should I use (in terms of IRBuilder calls) to allocate an array of bytes in stack (alloca?), then to work with it (from a given offset) as with integer (bitcast?). I mean something like that: unsigned char var[8]; unsigned int offset = 3; int val = *(int*)(&var+offset); /* read */ *(int*)(&var+offset)
