NFS export/mount options
Hi,
Could someone using NFS tell of how their setup is? And what are the NFS
mount point options?
Thanks in advance.

Ubuntu 11.04 DomU not showing external block Device
Hello,
I just installed Xen 4.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 dom0. After this i had
Ubuntu 11.04 as Para domU.
I tried to attach file based disk to the this domU.
My command is:
# xm block-attach Ubuntu-11 file:/root/ubunut-natty/Extra
/dev/xvdb w
there is no error on this.
But inside the DomU i cannot see any disk xvdb.

I/O error after attaching block device
I am trying to have a driver domain control a block device (a disk image
file within the domain, or a physical disk attached to the domain) - I
have managed to get the intended frontend device node to appear in the
frontend domain, but any attempts to access it (such as through fdisk to
partition it) result in I/O errors being printed to dmesg on both the
frontend and backend domains.

awful i/o performance on xen paravirtualized guest
Hi. I'm testing a centos 5.4 xen PV guest on top of a centos 5.4 host.
for some reason, the disk performance from the guest is awful. when I do an
import , the io is fine for a while then climbs to 100% and stays there most of
the time.
at first I tougth it was because I was using file-backed disks, so deleted
those and changed to LVM, but the situation did't improve.

Poor Samba Preformance
I recently upgraded a part of my network to Gigabit ethernet, basically
between my Linux machine and my main windows machine, is now gigabit.
The problem is that, and the whole reason I went with it, is to get
faster speeds with samba. I've only been able to get 13.4 MB/s as a
maximum transfer speed. I don't expect to be able to get 125 MB/s. If I
use HTTP I can get around 18 MB/s,

TCP, but Network cant be the bottleneck, have tested it with iperf
between bare metal/domU's and the nfs domU and it was perfectly fast...

[PATCH] Ensure blktap reports I/O errors back to guest
There are a number of flaws in the blktap userspace daemon when dealing
with I/O errors.
- The backends which use AIO check the io_events.res member to determine
if an I/O error occurred. Which is good. But when calling the callback
to signal completion of the I/O, they pass the io_events.res2 member
Now this seems fine at first glance[1]

Dom0 crash at 40Mbps Iperf traffic with only 80% CPU utilization ??
Hello
I have a 3 node experiment as detailed below to estimate the bridged
networking performance in para-virtualized Xen 3.0 on Emulab
(https://www.emulab.net/)
Here is how the 3-node topology looks (This topology is specified by
means of an NS-2 file)

Unreasonably poor performance of replicated volumes
Guess you went through user lists and tried something like this already
http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users/2018-April/033811.html
I have a same exact setup and below is as far as it went after months of
trail and error.
We all have somewhat same setup and same issue with this - you can find
same post as yours on the daily basis.

Bonding Eth interfaces - unexpeceted results
CentOS 6.2.........
Why do the physical interfaces report (correctly) that they're negotiated at 1000Mb/s, but when I `cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0` I get 100Mbps for the member interfaces, and when I ` mii-tool bond0` I get 10Mbps for the bond?

Unreasonably poor performance of replicated volumes
Thanks a lot for your reply!
You guessed it right though - mailing lists, various blogs, documentation,
videos and even source code at this point. Changing some off the options
does make performance slightly better, but nothing particularly
groundbreaking.
So, if I understand you correctly, no one has yet managed to get acceptable
performance (relative to underlying hardware capabilities) with

Cdrom on Linux domU PV
I tried to use cdrom in domU linux pv (Linux Mint 11 based on Natty).
With ''/mnt/vm/iso/test.iso,raw,xvdb,ro,cdrom'', Mint sees it as internal disk
(not cdrom) and only administrators can mount it.
I tried also ''/dev/scd0,raw,xvdb,ro,cdrom'' does the same thing.
Is possible use cdrom on linux domU pv full working where also normal user
can mount it without

Mounting filesystems with blktap2
For those wanting to know how to mount filesystems through blktap2
here is how you do it, as I couldn''t find it fully documented.
The instructions on the blktap2 readme file are rather out of date.
You can mount them under Dom0 like so.
e.g. to mount a vhd file,
sudo xm block-attach 0 tap2:vhd:/home/xen/xenwin7-persist.vhd xvdb w 0
Now the device should appear under /dev

Unreasonably poor performance of replicated volumes
Hello everybody!
I have 3 gluster servers (*gluster 3.12.6, Centos 7.2*; those are actually
virtual machines located on 3 separate physical XenServer7.1 servers)
They are all connected via infiniband network. Iperf3 shows around *23

Each server has 3 HDD put into a *stripe*3 thin pool (LVM2) *with logical

New DomU on older Dom0
Hi,
I have a Xen server running OpenSuSE 10.2, with Xen version 3.0.3_11774.
It''s happily hosting two DomU''s running the same OS / kernel.
Now I tried to create a new DomU running a newer OS - OpenSuSE 11.1. It
comes with Xen version 3.3.1_18494_03.
Unfortunately for me, it doesn''t work - this is what I get:

Xen and multiple block devices
Hello,
CentOS 5.0 on x86_64
I'm trying to set up Xen paravirt guests with access to 2 block
devices: One for / and one for swap. The block devices are LVM LVs,
but that shouldn't matter.
When I create the guest using either virt-manager or virt-install, I
get asked which device to use for xvda. But I want more block devices:
xvdb for swap.
I know how to add this as an option to the

Errors attaching VBDs to dom0 VM
Hi,
I''ve been touring XCP and making my way around it for the last few
days, and am having problems with some reasonably straightforward
actions. I''ve poured a several hours into different ways of resolving
the issue, but am coming up short.
Here''s the main issue. The following command (plugging in a VBD to
the dom0 VM), when, run, hangs for several minutes, and then

How do I extract the scoring equations for neural networks and support vector machines?
Sorry for these multiple postings.
I solved the problem using na.omit() to drop records with missing values
for the time being. I will worry about imputation, etc. later.
I calculated the sum of squared errors for 3 models, linear regression,
neural networks, and support vector machines. This is the first run.
Without doing any parameter tuning on the SVM or playing around with the
number of
