Problem with mdadm, raid1 and automatically adds any disk to raid
Hi. CENTOS 7.6.1810, fresh install - use this as a base to create/upgrade new/old machines. I was trying to setup two disks as a RAID1 array, using these lines mdadm --create --verbose /dev/md0 --level=0 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 mdadm --create --verbose /dev/md1 --level=0 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sdb2 /dev/sdc2 mdadm --create --verbose /dev/md2 --level=0 --raid-devices=2

pygrub question
Hi, I''ve prepared a Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server on a Xen 3.2-1 host running Debian Lenny on kernel 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64. The Ubuntu 10.04 domU is running a 2.6.32-24-server kernel from the Ubuntu repositories, which is (must be :-) ) xen-aware. The domU uses pygrub to boot and it works like a charm. Now I''m trying to deploy this domU on a Xen 3.2-1 host running Debian Etch on kernel

Expanding a virtual block device
Hi list. I''m running Xen 4.0.1 on Debian. I''m trying to live resize a block device : - I have a arbitrary block device in my dom0 (/dev/mapper/vm-vol42). - I start a PV domain with that device as a disk (disk = [''phy:/dev/mapper/vm-vol42,xvda,w'']). - I resize vm-vol42 in the dom0 (adding size only) - the dom0 sees the device''s new size. -

Fully virtualized domU Linux network (VLAN) trouble
Hi, I have a 64bit Debian Lenny server with two physical network interfaces, one is connected to a switch without VLANs (eth0), the other (eth1) is connected to a switch with tagged VLANs (eth1). I''m running a couple of paravirtualized VMs that have no problem using the eth0 interface (bridged). I''m also running a couple of fully virtualized VMs, one being a Linux box (with a

raw partition or LV for btrfs?
I notice this question on the wiki/faq: https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/UseCases#What_is_best_practice_when_partitioning_a_device_that_holds_one_or_more_btr-filesystems and as it hasn''t been answered, can anyone make any comments on the subject Various things come to mind: a) partition the disk, create an LVM partition, and create lots of small LVs, format each as btrfs b)

wrong values in "df" and "btrfs filesystem df"
Hallo, linux-btrfs, First I create an array of 2 disks with mkfs.btrfs -d raid0 -m raid1 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdd1 and mount it at /srv/MM. Then I fill it with about 1,6 TByte. And then I add /dev/sde1 via btrfs device add /dev/sde1 /srv/MM btrfs filesystem balance /srv/MM (it run about 20 hours) Then I work on it, copy some new files, delete some old files - all works well. Only df

Growing HW RAID arrays, Online
We add disks to an LSI raid array periodically to increase the amount of available space for business needs. It is understood that this process starts with metal, and has many layers that must each adjust to make use of the additional space. Each of these layers also says that it can do that 'online' without interruption or rebooting. But making it happen is not that easy. When the HW

[PATCH 1/2] xfstests: add generic/321 to test fsync() on directories V2
Btrfs had some issues with fsync()''ing directories and fsync()''ing after renames. These three new tests cover the 3 different issues we were seeing. This breaks out the dmflakey stuff into a common helper to be shared between generic/311 and generic/321. Thanks, Signed-off-by: Josef Bacik <jbacik@fusionio.com> --- V1->V2: rename test to generic/321 -removed an
