Xen pci passthru problems with kernel -164.6.1
Hi there,
After updating a server from CentOS 5.3 to 5.4 my Xen pci-passthru setup
has some troubles.
The server has two NICs, one used by dom0 and the other assigned to a
domU and one SCSI controler assigned to another domU. It has been
working fine since CentOS 5.1, when I did the initial setup.
After upgrading to 5.4, I get this error when starting the domU with one
of the NICs assigned:

iommu=soft for Broadcom NICs PCI-passthru
Hi,
My environment is as below:
Hardware: Dell R210
NICs: Broadcom NetXtreme II BCN5709/5716 (w/o FLR)
Xen: xen 4.1.2
Kernel: 3.6.32.57 (final version of xen community)
Distribution: Centos 6.2 (upgraded to above kernel)
When I added iommu=soft to domU kernel boot line, the PCI passthru-ed NICs can be UP and RUNNING. Otherwise, omit iommu=soft option would make the passthru-ed NICs only UP but

XEN | kernel 3.0 vs 2.6.34-xen - no pci backend?
ls /lib/modules/2.6.34-xen-r4-dom0/kernel/drivers/xen/pciback
pciback.ko
passthru works fine with that module and 2.6.34-xen dom0/domU host/guest
i can''t find analog for this module in 3.0 kernel. pci-stub i suppose is
for KVM and doesn''t work with XEN - guest starts but has no PCI devices.
can anyone give me some advice on make PCI passthru work in 3.0?

xen networking and pci late binding
Hi,
I have a PC with 3 ethernet interfaces. I am trying to a) assign 2 ethernet
interfaces exclusively to one domU by using the late binding method and b)
to use a bridge between the third interface and dom0 (that works fine). The
goal is to not to have to use bridges for the exclusively assigned
interfaces.
Is it possible? (If not, no need to read the rest)
The problem I have is that I

Pci Export to get usb Dongle working under DomU (Xen 3.2)
Hello everybody,
I''m experiencing some problems while exporting a whole usb hub to my
DomU.
My Dom0 is a Debian Etch using Xen 3.2 and kernel 2.6.18-5-xen-686 SMP
on an intel core 2 duo.
My DomU is a CentOs 5.1 using same kernel.
Both are 32 bits environnements.
I''ve exported my Usb Hub, and a ethernet card, using the
pciback.hide=(04:00.0)(00:1d.0) option to Dom0 kernel.

pci-attach - HOWTO
Hi,
I tried to attach passrough io device to domU, the command (ended successfully in dom0), but when I entered the domU and typed the "lspci" command I didn''t see the new device, although the dom0 removed it from the "pci-list-assignable-devices".
When I tried to detach it from the domU, the detach command returned with timeout error.
What did I miss? perhaps I

problems with USB and PCI passthrough on Debian Lenny
Greetings,
I have Xen installation with all domains (dom0+domU) being Debian Lenny.
I''d like to pass my usb printer to one of those domU domains. I couldn''t
make usb passthrough to work, so I decided that I will pass the whole
usb controller to the domU. It didn''t worked either.
I have read tons of internet howtos only to find the solutions proposed

Network isolation - PCI passthrough question
Hello,
I thinking about using PCI passthrough to dedicated a domU as firewall.
I understand PCI passthrough concept. When done, my domU will see
network card and the dom0 won''t any more. So I''ll be able to filter all
trafic from outside, since it will go through network domU.
Then, how will I be able to connect other domU (and maybe dom0) to the
network domU ?
In a normal way,

Fedora Core 6 dom0 with a win 2003 server domU; unkown PCI device
Hello,
I''ve got xen installed on a box running Fedora Core 6. In addition
I''m running a Windows 2003 server as a domU. Everything work fine
and I am quite satisfied with the setup. However, in win 2003''s
device manager there is a unknown PCI device that I not able to
find a suitable driver for. Windows update can''t find one either.
Is there a way to find what

Set PCI device latency from domU?
If a PCI device has been passed to a domU is it possible to set its
latency from the domU or does it have to be done from the domO?
When I attempt to set a devices latency from the domU with setpci I do
not receive an error message back indicating a problem, however the
latency as viewed with lspci -v is not changed. The same setpci
command from the dom0 successfully changes the latency and the

CentOS/Xen PCI pass-through
Is PCI pass-through available in the "standard" CentOS 5.1 kernel? From the
"xm info" command, I see the major.minor version of Xen is 3.1, so I''m
assuming it is and that I''m missing something basic.
I''ve tried using "pciback.hide=(...)" in grub.conf, but after getting an
error message about it not being valid, I realized that pciback is a

The crux of my setup is given in the Subject: field. I''m using Xen

My goal is to set up a system where:
