[XCP] Import Always Fails
I''m trying to contain my frustration...but I''m wondering if *anyone* has *ever* gotten the Import functionality to work in XCP? I''ve tried several times, and keep getting the same obnoxious and useless error that is absolutely no help to anyone: Failed to Import. I have made sure that the transfer VM is installed (View -> Show Hidden Objects, transfer VM is there),

Heterogeneous XCP 1.6 pool
Hi, I''ve been trying to use E5520 and X5650 together in an heterogeneous pool without success. I know the combination is not on the official XenServer supported list (http://hcl.xensource.com/CPUPoolsList.aspx), but I thought it would be possible to set the mask anyway and see for myself if the combination works… My problem is that the mask doesn''t "stick" after a

[XCP] recompiling xapi rpm changes version and licensing details.
Hi there. I needed to recompile xapi to fix a bug that was resolved regarding vdi-create not setting the sharable flag. I used the sources provided in the source-1.iso from xen.org. Everything is good in this regard, and creating a vdi that has "sharable=true" is possible, but I had a problem that forced me to revert to the older copy of the xapi binary because my XCP box was now being

Ideas...
Hello, My company runs several Internet Cafes in Mexico, where bandwith is limited and very costly. We use Linux to do NAT and firewall stuff and at each location we have about 30-40 stations. I''d like to know if anyone out there has any suggestions about how to use CBQ to limit the bandwith at each station. We only have a 128k circuit. The problem I am having is that since I have that

XCP source disk iso
Hi. The Readme for the disk says that it includes the sources for ocaml but there aren''t any on the iso. Any thoughts? I''m having a helluva time getting these packages to compile and perhaps using the ocaml sources on that iso could help. Thanks. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

Samba 2.2.8a file permissions not working
We have upgraded from Samba 2.2.7a to 2.2.8a. We have samba running our our two UNIX file servers, one is Solaris 8 and the other RedHat Linux 7.3. Samba was compiled as follows: configure --prefix=/opt/samba --with-acl-support --with-quotas Right now it doesn't looks like changing file/folder permissions are working from W2K. When we right click on a file/folder and go to the

Strange File locking problems
Dear community members, we set up samba-3.0-beta1 on Debian Linux 3.0. This was done taking the Debian unstable package and recompiling it for Debian stable. The kernel is 2.4.20 from Debian testing with a patch for the RAID controller in Dell Poweredge 2600. The server is running quite fine since two weeks and serving 9 PC (running WinNT, Win2k and WinXP), providing them mostly with AutoCAD

Storage Resource RAID & Disk type
Are there any best practice recommendations on RAID & disk type for the shared storage resource for a pool? I''m adding shelves to a HP MSA2000 G2, 24 drives total, minus hot spare(s). I can use 600GB SAS drives (15k rpm), 1TB or 2TB Midline SAS drives (7200rpm). I need about 3TB usable for roughly 30 VM guests, 100GB each, web servers so I/O needs are nominal. I''m also

Re: fresh xcp 1.6 & xenserver install fails on first boot (kernel not found). [SOLVED]
So I''ve found the issue... But I don''t yet understand the issue. If anyone has any ideas feel free to share. To keep a long story short (cause it took days and I don''t want to bore anyone...) I ended up going through a process of a/b testing narrowing down the conditions that reproduced the failed install. Nearing the end I found that it was only happening on equipment

"No text console available" when trying to get the console of a just created VM from a template on XCP
Hi there, I am trying to set up XCP on Ubuntu 12.04. I went through the procedure given in the README file of the xcp-xapi package and reached the point where the hypervisor seems to be running fine. I set up a VM using the Debian Squeeze (64bit) template and started it, giving a Debian mirror URL as install-repository. Running "xe vm-list" reports that the machine is running, but when

XCP pool upgrade
Hi all! I am using XCP pool with 5 members. XCp version is 1.0.0 I want to upgrade my XCP to version XCp 1.1. I read that upgrading from 0.0.1 to 0.5 had some troubles including conflicts between different version of XCP (XCP 0.0.1 and XCP 0.5 conlicted each other in one pool). Does anybody did such upgrade? What troubles can I meet? :) _______________________________________________ Xen-users
