Request for moderation: mailing lists winehq
Hello all,
we're seeking people that could do our mailing list moderation, since
we're getting about 15 to 20 spam bounces per day on our mailing lists
(wine-announce, wine-bugs, wine-cvs, wine-devel, wine-patches, wine-users).
Needless to say this amount has increased since we started doing it.
Currently Ove Kaaven and me do the moderation stuff for all the mails
that bounced due to the

TTSSH and the SSH trademark
Hi everyone. I want to point out some facts about TTSSH that may be
relevant to the claims of trademark infringement by OpenSSH. I'll confine
my opinions to another message :-).
I released my product, which has always been named "Teraterm SSH" and is
usually abbreviated to "TTSSH", to the public in May 1998. TTSSH is a free
software Windows client for the SSH1 protocol.

Call for volunteers
Hi,
I have built a list of projects that would benefit Wine (or at least
would make me feel better) and yet should be easy to tackle by new Wine
developpers. So if you wanted to contribute to Wine but just did not
know where to start I hope this list can provide you with some ideas.
If you want to contribute but don't find anything that motivates you
in this list, just post a message

TransGaming and SourceForge
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that the TransGaming DirectX development is now
being hosted at SourceForge. You can get updates from our live CVS tree, discuss
DirectX specific issues on the 'WineX-devel' mailing list, etc. The SourceForge
project page is at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/winex
The CVSROOT for CVS is:

More on TTSSH and the SSH trademark
I would also like to mention that when I released TTSSH in May 1998, I had
no concerns about violating any trademarks because I observed that the
name "SSH" was already being used by several different parties for
different purposes --- as the name of Ylonen's original SSH package and
its derivatives, as the name of the protocol, and as a component of names
of other implementations

Mass software update distribution + checksum-updating
Hello Rsync devs,
We're investigating ways to provide large scale software updates for
multi-gigabyte games, and have recently begun to explore whether rsync
may fit the bill. In particular, the checksum-updating patch looks like
it might be able to solve our biggest concerns about CPU load on the
update server, since the actual content being served will change quite
rarely.

Configuration/Announce
with today's CVS commit (for those who stay up to date with
the latest developments), you'll have to modify your Wine
configuration to reflect the changes.
First of all, your Wine configuration file now needs a WinMM section
containing the following:
[WinMM]
"Drivers" = "wineoss.drv"
"WaveMapper" = "msacm.drv"
"MidiMapper" =
