Request for moderation: mailing lists winehq
Hello all,
we're seeking people that could do our mailing list moderation, since
we're getting about 15 to 20 spam bounces per day on our mailing lists
(wine-announce, wine-bugs, wine-cvs, wine-devel, wine-patches, wine-users).
Needless to say this amount has increased since we started doing it.
Currently Ove Kaaven and me do the moderation stuff for all the mails
that bounced due to the

Call for volunteers
Hi,
I have built a list of projects that would benefit Wine (or at least
would make me feel better) and yet should be easy to tackle by new Wine
developpers. So if you wanted to contribute to Wine but just did not
know where to start I hope this list can provide you with some ideas.
If you want to contribute but don't find anything that motivates you
in this list, just post a message

[HELP] DPMI
Sure!
As I don't have Internet at home, most of my e-mails
(at work) are from memory... So it surely is DPMI.

users, at least temporarily. He has done rc2. His post is at the end of this
one.
First, make sure there is NO trace of Wine installed. Packages have changed.
Second, the repository also works with Synaptic. I did have to fiddle a bit.
And, no, I don't know why. But it does work as listed. Oh, and disable any
listing for "Sarge". I don't know why that is even there.

Winelibs question.....
Forgive my newbness. I'm pretty fresh to Linux, but trying to port some reasonably sizable windows apps that I have written. Certainly my gui apps appear to work directly with wine. I also have stuff that makes more sense to use with winelibs.
I've had no significant difficulties setting up and compiling bits an pieces, basically just to get my orientation sorted. One of my apps is an

Latest on Abacus DPMI problem.
I contacted Mr. Heinonen, and got the response below. So, he says the
problem is, it is 16 bit DPMI, which is rare, and the real problem is,
DOSVM has a bug which allows two simultaneous interrupts. I assured him I
was not asking anyone to work on the problem at all. I needed to get a
handle on it, I had thought it was a locked selector problem. Learning what
the real problem was, is a big

Porting with Winelib
Hi,
I am looking into good way to port Windows applications
to Linux and hopefully any other Unixes.
I'd like to know about questions below.
If anyone answer them, I'd appreciate it.
1. Can I use Winelib to port commercial application
whose sources will be not disclosed ?
2. Is it possible to link Winelib statically with an application and distribute it ?
3. In case that I

questions about winelib
I need to write a win32 program. However, my workstation is a Linux box. I was goingto
create a cross compiler
and compile my code and run it on wine... However, I heard about winelib,
and allegedly I can just use winelib and compile on my linux box using
good ol' gcc and it will just work. Is this true? If so how would I set
that up? Where can I find the docs?

WineLib Warning?
When compiling the following line of code using WineLib 20010731
you get a warning message.
// generates a warning
CompareString(LOCALE_USER_DEFAULT, dwFlags, s1, -1, s2, -1);
These warning relates to the defines found in
include/winbase.h file where we have:
UINT WINAPI CompareStringA(DWORD,DWORD,LPCSTR,DWORD,LPCSTR,DWORD);
