how to scale puppet with F5 load balancer?
How can I configure F5 load balancer to be infront of multiple puppet masters?
The SSL will break as the server name if different, hostname of the
VIP on the LB vs hostnames of each masters, right?
Can you shed some light?
Thanks.

Puppet F5 module
Hi,
following this<https://puppetlabs.com/blog/managing-f5-big-ip-network-devices-with-puppet/>tutorial, I finally made it till the part where I see the SSL cert request
from my f5 load balancer. Then I signed it and configured in nodes.pp the
same pool and irule as suggested in the tutorial.
BUT when I run on the proxy:
# puppet device --deviceconf

F5 SLB iRule - POP3 TLS Offload & Add Realm
Hey Guys,
I figured someone might have use of this at some point. I've created an
iRule for our F5 Load Balancer which performs the following tasks:
- Appends STLS to the POP3 Capability list (it does this blindly, so
expects the backend POP3 server to not return this)
- Watches for the STLS command and initiates SSL negotiation with the
client (leaves the connection to the

Take out hosts from load balancer while deploying with Puppet
Hello erveryone,
I have a question, what is the best way to take hosts out from load
balancer pool when deploying a module/catalog?? In our case we use a F5
Load Balancer... anyone with experience or ideas on how to do this??
I found this module:

Re: [Serusers] high-availibility setup using f5 bigip
I think that the range of this question is too large.
You should tell us what your scenario is. And tell us more about your
configurations.

Fwd: Load balancer for dovecot servers - Not able to send emails
Hi John,
Thank you for the reply. Actually it was setup like this by another
member, who left the team/company recently. Now it came to me to handle
that responsibility. That's how I got in to this. At present I am not able
to migrate/upgrade immediately. Because it sends emails around 100K+ emails
everyday and I do not want to disturb that.
Coming back to your question, Actually the

Problems monitoring Mongrel with F5 BigIP
If this has already been covered, please point me to that (I didn''t find
anything in my searches)...
We are using F5 BigIP LTM load balancers. They have many pools of Mongrels
they load balance across, and I of course want the F5 to know when a Mongrel
goes down or is unavailable, etc. To do that, I need to have an F5 health
monitor for HTTP make a request to the Mongrel. We do this

Load balancing Asterisk.
Hello!
We're looking for a solution to reliably load balance our
Asterisk boxes. So far we've been using a hodge-podge of
directing different services to different boxes/IPs, but
eventually I'd like to consolidate things so we can present
a single IP address to the outside world.
My question is - how do we go about doing that? I've read
a lot of things like load-balancing via

Return code 304 when I hit F5 but 200 when I select the url and hit enter
I make changees to _form.rhtml and hit F5 to see the changes. I don''t see
the modified page. When I take the cursor to the url at the top and hit
enter then only I get refreshed page. I am using firefox.
I am guessing that this behaviour is because I am making changes to a
partial page and not the main page. Is that correct? Any plans to make
webrick detect the changes in the partial

Fwd: Load balancer for dovecot servers - Not able to send emails
Hi All,
I need your help on one of the issue in Dovecot.
I have the dovecot version 2.0.9 installed on RHEL linux 6.10 version. It's
a single/standalone Live server.
Now I have created another server with the same configuration for the
resilince purpose. I also tested and I am able to send the emails to both
of the dovecot servers separately/individually. They are working fine.

Monitoring IP masquerading on LVS load-balancing
I've got small numbers of connections moving through a load balancer
configured in NAT mode. So I've got an iptables table called "nat", which
has in it a line "-A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE" (lan connect is
eth0, private lan inside the cluster is eth1).
The load balancer is working; connections made to the virtual ip on that
host do get routed to one of the

Load balanced VIP
Hello everyone!
I am working on implementing my first Gluster/Ganesha NFS setup and I am flowing this guide: http://blog.gluster.org/2015/10/linux-scale-out-nfsv4-using-nfs-ganesha-and-glusterfs-one-step-at-a-time
Everything is working fine. I've got Gluster and Ganesha NFS working and I have VIPs on each node and it is failing over fine, if a little slowly. However, the VIPs don't

Load Balancing b/w 2 asterisk servers using SIP load balancer
Hi,
I'm trying to do load balancing between 2 asterisk servers using SIP

I used the following options on lbproxy, but I get the below message
continuously.

load balancing 20 asterisk servers
I've read several other emails and pages on the wiki but none give any
deffinate answers. if you have 20 asterisk servers each with 4 pri's, all
running RealTime Extensions and RealTime SIPBuddies from the same MySQL
server, what prevents you from putting all 20 servers behind a single load
balancer? That way all of your UA's can use the same IP to register to; vs

Asterisk Sip Proxies and SIP persistence
All,
I am looking into open source idea's for something I play with on
the closed source side. What I am thinking is to get two Asterisk PBX's
behind a single SIP proxy to load balance calls inbound, and potentially
outbound to an external sip provider, with the potential of multiple
provider type lines (SPA3102, and a sip provider) that allows the call
to persist.
What I am
