Environmental Variables
Hi Everybody, I been looking through google for better part of the day but I
haven''t been able to find an answer to my problem.
I need an environmental variable to be present in puppet, so that yum works
correctly. However after reboot puppet doesn''t read /etc/profile and starts
without this profile.
If I go into server and do services puppet restart than everything works
fine,

libvirt 0.8.3 rpm package for RHEL
Hi List,
I've checked RHEL6 beta2, it's libvirt 0.8.1, but I need 0.8.3 to
support vSphere 4.1, I know I can compile it by myself, but our Red
Hat's customer wanna have "half official" rpm package for their test,
anyone would help me to make rpm for RHEL5.5?
And, do we have any roadmap about libvirt 0.8.3 to be official rpm
package in RHEL6?
Regards,
Joel

mccollective
I hope that someone can help me here.
in mcollective server.cfg I have following:
identity = fqdn
When I do mc-inventory (or any other function) the host name says: "fqdn".
If i put hostname itself in it than that works, however that would mean I
have to fill in that field on every server. Of course I can just create an
erb template in puppet and specify hostname, but that just

pgadmin3 missing dependencies
I searched the list archives and I found one answer to this which
suggested I should install the PG yum repos. I don't like that
answer for reasons which follow.
I'm running Centos 6.0 freshly installed, and I've decided that with
this box I'm sticking as much as possible to just the CentOS repos
that go with that release. I figure in particular I do not need any

[netcf] Why netcf can not rename a existing physical interface dynamically by itself?
Hi All,
I have a usage question about netcf. Why netcf can not rename a existing physical interface dynamically by itself? If you have any other method, please share to me, or can we add support for it in netcf? You can see the following steps for details.
Version:
netcf-0.2.4-1.el6.x86_64
kernel-2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64
1. Select a existing NIC from host, for example eth1.

Inheriting variables
I'm trying to set a channel variable and make it available to another
channel:
I thought that if I SetVar(_SomeVariable=SomeValue) or
SetVar(__SomeVariable=SomeValue) then SomeVariable would be available in
the destination channel.
However __SomeVariable, _SomeVariable and SomeVariable are all blank.
The scenario:

Marek Blaha introduction
Thanks Alan,
now I have access to configmanagement sig part of wiki, but
unfortunately I'm not able to edit YUM4 page (which I'll need most):
https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/ConfigManagementSIG/YUM4
Also - can I have a personal homepage set? I'm sorry I didn't mention
this in original post.
Marek.

virt-xml-validate b0rked?
It seems that virt-xml-validate doesn't validate what *has* to be valid XML, that generated by virsh dumpxml against a running domain:

Id Name State

3 rhel53 running

Local calls not possible when Internet connection down
Are the phones and the server in the same subnet? You might making note of
the IPs and just simply try pinging everything with the uplink
disconnected. Also, if you are using domain names for registration, it is
possible a dns server must be reachable.
If you are using database for any of your call processing, an unreachable
dns server can also be the cause of trouble. For some reason, even if

We have done some benchmarking tests using dovecot 2.0.12 to find the best
shared filesystem for hosting many users, here I share with you the results,
notice the bad perfomance of all the shared filesystems against the local
storage.
Is there any specific optimization/tunning on dovecot for use GFS2 on
rhel6??, we have configured the director to make the user mailbox persistent

Local calls not possible when Internet connection down
Hello,
it did not seem the call hung. It seemed it never started. There was no dialplan execution on the asterisk side. It looked like phones were unregistered. Same shows the log posted previously.
