[PATCH] don''t require ebtables in the host kernel
The network-bridge script fails when setting a few sysctls which are only available if ebtables is present in the host kernel. Fix by ignoring the return value of the sysctl command. Setting Up LVS to Load Balance DNS
Greetings, all: OS: CentOS 6.4 x86_64 Kernel: 2.6.32-358.14.1 I could use some assistance with setting up pulse to load balance my dns servers. I've configured tcp and udp port 53 with the piranha gui, set up arptable rules on the real servers and added the virtual ip to the bond0 interface on the real servers, but I'm still having no luck in getting things going. A dig against the

Adding comments to config files with augeas
Hi, I''ve got a ''define'' that I use to set kernel parameters in /etc/sysctl.conf using the augeas type. It works well, but I''d like to be able to add a comment line directly above my the parameter to explain what it does and why it''s been changed. We currently just add a comment in site.pp, but that''s not much use to local admins.

Provider Augeas not functional on Sles10?
Hi, I have a problem with augeas, puppet and Suse 10 SP2. Augeas works when I use the augtool to edit files. But I would like to use it in combination with puppet. My class looks something like this: augeas {"sysctl.conf": provider => "augeas", context => "/files/etc/sysctl.conf", changes => [ "set

Puppet and augeas - onlyif conditions; overwriting default values
Hello, I am still not getting warm with augeas and puppet, there are some things I do not understand. At the moment I am trying the following: - I want to set some kernel parameters in the /etc/sysctl.conf file - in one puppet module, I have defined some default values for the kernel parameters - but for several servers I want to modify some of these values, therefore I would like to overwrite

[Bridge] Can bridge be 'seen' by ip6tables?
Hello! Recently,I¡¯m doing a security project based upon ipv6.I have built up a bridge to support a transparent firewall.(my system is Fedora Core 2,kernel 2.6.5).In this system ,the version of the iptables is 1.2.7,which does not support ipv6(I have tried it). Thus,I download a new version and test it. The iptables functions in bridge mode, but the ipv6 doesn't work well.In the

Error setting up bridge with static IP address
Hello: I am trying to follow the RHEL virtualization guide to set up a bridge on a system running CentOS 5.4. I copied my ifcfg-eth0 to ifcfg-eth0:1 and set its content to this: DEVICE=eth0:1 HWADDR=[The MAC address from eth0] ONBOOT=yes BRIDGE=br1 I then created ifcfg-br1 with this content: DEVICE=br1 TYPE=Bridge BOOTPROTO=static BROADCAST=192.168.2.255 IPADDR=192.168.2.202

Bridging local physical interface to tinc
I can’t seem to find info about layer 2 tinc tap interface bridge with local physical nic. I have successfully created two nodes configuration with tinc acting as switch. My problem is ethernet packets only flow between two nodes and not to hosts on bridged nic. Example: Server 1 - eth0 bridged with tinc tap device, then bridge gets IP via dhcp server on physical nic subnet. Server 2 - local

I'm looking for some information regarding the interaction of KVM, VLANs, firewalld, and the kernel's forwarding configuration. I would appreciate input especially from anyone already running a similar configuration in production. In short, I'm trying to figure out if a current configuration is inadvertently opening up traffic across network segments. On earlier versions of CentOS
