I know this has been moved to contrib, but is anybody using it successfully?
We are looking at using Asterisk for the fine IVR features it has, tied in
with another platform. Calls are getting routed to it, but the following is

migration and inserting default data
Hi,
I''m wondering is there a way to load default data in the migration script?
So, for example I''m creating new table to store the order status, I also
want to pre-populate the table with some data from a sql file.
I have done a quick search on the list but cannot find anything.
thanks,

No MySQL password in ps aux!
I just noticed that some CentOS 4 or 5 machine that I don't admin but
have root access to hides MySQL passwords from ps:
Console 1:
$ mysql -u root -pSECRET
mysql >
Console2:
# ps aux
root 32165 0.0 0.1 109408 2204 pts/1 Ss+ 11:19 0:00 mysql
-u root -px xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
That is really nice, is it a MySQL feature or a CentOS feature? I have
some other servers that I _do_

Log rotation and combining...
I have recently noticed that my dovecot-deliver.log is huge and wanted to start rotating it. So a couple of questions:
1. Can the dovecot-deliver.log be combined with the maillog, that gets rotated weekly? If it can be done, is it advisable?
Since the inception of this particular server, the log file has been located in the /home/vmail directory. Is there a reason it shouldn?t be located in

So, the question is, why can I rotate the log manually, but cron returns a permission error? Do I need to tell cron to run it as sudo or something like that?

logrotate script not working
Hey guys,
Got a quick question and I hope this is an easy one!
In my /etc/logrotate.conf file I have the following entry:
# rotate all of the apache logs -- we'll rotate them here
/var/log/mysqld.log {
weekly
size 50M
create 0644 mysql mysql
rotate 1
}
And from that I would expect the log to rotate when it reaches 50M in size.
However I just caught that log weighing

new mysql installation, kinda stuck
I installed centos 6 as a webserver. It installed mysql.
However, I guess I need mysql-server for me to use it for php and my
website.
I installed that.
I am unable to give root a password and can go no further.
I have tried mysql-secure-installation and I just get stuck at errors
and no progression.
I have tried mysqladmin -u root password <password> and the accompanying

max_allowed_packet mysql
Hi
I am using rails 2.3.8 with mysql 5.1. In my attachment model the
validation was
validates_attachment_size :attachment, :less_than => 2.megabytes,
:message => "Upload file size should not exceeds 2 MB"
And my /etc/my.ini has
max_allowed_packet = 16M
The above worked perfectly. But now I need file limit size as
10 MB instead of 2 MB. So I changed validation

Request info on managing MySQL
Good day/night/whatever fellow techies,
I've come to a small problem managing mysql on CentOS 4.7 box[1]. When
I have done things on mysql on my desktop systems it was always just for
personal use so I would be lazy and put everything under the "test" db
so I didn't have to deal with all that security. But I find that I need
to put some db's on the "production"

Database and user not created (Puppetlabs mysql module)
Hi everyone,
I am new to Puppet and try to make some simple "automation things".
I have succeed with apache2, ssh modules, but have problems with
Puppetlabs mysql module.
It installs mysql server, changes/creates admin user password, but
does not create database and user.
I cannot find anything wrong in logs (--debug --verbose). I see that
manifests is read, but no db/user in mysql.
