CloudPack problems with CentOS AMIs
I noticed the following problems when working with CloudPack and the image ami-08728661 (and it probably apples to other CentOS images as well) 1) the ssh user in this AMI is ec2-user, but sudo to root is not possible in the ssh command unless pseudo-tty allocation forced with ssh -t option. so I changed cloudpack.rb, line 573 from: ssh_remote_execute(server, options[:login], install_command,

Sieve - multiple cores/CPUs
Hi All, I have a quick question about the Sieve in Dovecot. I know that this is a plugin so probably it depends on the Dovecot itself but: is it able to use multiple cores/CPUs when doing the filtering? does the filtering for each mail user run on a separate core? Thanks, Pawel

Strange error.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: RIPEMD160 Jerry & Others, What does this error in my logs mean: [2005/10/06 08:50:47, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(798) ~ james (192.168.100.158) couldn't find service ::{2227a280-3aea-1069-a2de-08002b30309d} It could be that I don't have any shared printers setup; but, the error doesn't suggest anything intuitive. Thanks, James

Still trying to run hvm (Invalid mode)
I''m still trying to run winxp on xen. This time, installed a fresh debian-amd64 stable version (see dpkg-l attached). When I run xm create winxp.cfg, I got the message "Error: Invalid mode". I''ve attached all the files I think could be useful to debug the problem. Googling I''ve found some posts saying problems with asus_acpi module and during boot process

samba4.2.0 crashes on connection attempt with an internal samba error...
Dear Samba fellows, I try to install samba on my notebook in order to get it into my samba based domain. It was a bit picky to get everything assembled on the notebook - but that last issue is hard. :-( I installed it from the sources on Debian Jessie - exactly in the same manner I used for my servers. I got sssd and kerberos working... > root at alecto:/usr/src/samba4/samba-4.2.0#

Trouble demoting DC with broken replication
Hi all, I am currently struggling to remove one of our Samba4 DC from the domain. Some time ago, adding a new Samba DC to our AD did not succeed and I had to demote the new server again. After removal, replication on one of the old/existing DCs got weird. /usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool drs showrepl gives the following: Standardname-des-ersten-Standorts\dc02 DSA Options: 0x00000001 DSA object

Bug#785132: No screen refresh on Windows 8.1 with xen-hypervisor-4.5-amd64
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.5-amd64_4.5.0-1_amd64.deb Version: 4.5.0-1 Hi, I use xen with sdl, not with vnc. When I boot on xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64, everything is fine. With Debian or Windows 8.1 I have a good display, But when I choose at boot, the xen-hypervisor-4.5-amd64, things go wrong. If I launch a xen Debian, I get some blur effect on the display. And when I launch a xen Windows8.1,

Hi, I get the following errors while building R-1.4.1 on AMD64/Linux (SuSE 9.1). R-2.0.1 compiles fine though. I'm building R-1.4.1 because I need to install SNet (available at http://cm.bell-labs.com/cm/ms/departments/sia/InternetTraffic/S-Net/SNet_1.0.zip). The errors I get are: In file included from dataentry.c:34: /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xlib.h:1400: error: parse error before

Hi, there! Right now i have a Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 64bit KVM machine running samba 4.0.0 (used as AD domain controller) that was build from source right after 4.0.0 stable was released. It's working pretty stable (a couple of times had to restart samba because of service just stopped working unexpectedly).Right now i see that there is a 4.0.5 version, that has to be more stable than 4.0.0.Tried

need-restart ?
Hi, today I updated the glibc packages on some CentOS machines. After the Update I checked which services/processes I have to restart "yum -C ps" or "needs-restarting" At the most machines I get no information about necessary restarts, but at two machines a long listing : 1 : /sbin/init 386 : /sbin/udevd-d 659 : /sbin/udevd-d 999 : /usr/sbin/vmtoolsd 1103 : auditd 1128 :

RC1, Rails, and problems with multiple options in spec.opts
I am having inconsistent output with multiple options in the spec.opts file. I can, for instance, pass --color or --colour, or, separately, use --drb. But when combining them I get: /opt/local/lib/ruby/1.8/optparse.rb:1381:in `complete'': invalid option: --options --color --drb (OptionParser::InvalidOption) from /opt/local/lib/ruby/1.8/optparse.rb:1379:in `catch''
