SSL issues - certificate verify failed
Hello readers,
I have this little issue that my puppet client refuses to do anything
because of SSL validation errors. Maybe I''ll just post dump of what
happens, that makes it clear I hope. Does anyone have a suggestion why that
might happen? what I already checked:
On the master:

the relevant snippet is...
NAME="*.mov"
cd $IN

and if there is one file in this directory - ie test.mov, this works fine
but if there are two (or more) files in this directory - test.mov, test2.mov
then I get an error...

I''ve gone over the documentation several times now and I can''t figure out how to ''apply'' a manifest to a client.
The client does have a signed certificate but the only thing in the /etc/puppet folder on the client is an ssl directory.
I have a manifest that works fine on the puppet ''master''
I have added the client into

tlsv1 alert - unknown ca!
Hi,
I have setup puppet (2.7.5) on 2 different machines on ec2.
Puppet master config
1. Ruby - 1.9.3
2. OS - Amazon linux image
3. runs from root user
Puppet agent config
1. Ruby - 1.9.3
2. OS - centos
3. runs from root user
When i run the agent, it throws an error "unknown ca" (can been seen
in tcpdump/server logs) and closes the SSL connection immediately. I

recursive finds
I am trying to supplement and ultimately provide a patch for ''foreman'' which is an adjunct to puppet.
Essentially, there is a Hosts class which belongs_to Hostgroup and Hostgroup class has a column called ''ancestry'' which is actually a Hostgroup (probably what is referred to as STI but I am not sure) and thus within Foreman, nesting Hostgroups is not uncommon.

puppet repository from puppetlabs
Hi All,
Is there a ubuntu repository managed by puppetlabs? I am using lucid
and latest puppet package it offers is 0.25.4.
I could of course just download source, or a deb from debian or newer
ubuntu, or get it using gem.
But would be nice if there is a PPA available for lucid, cuz it would
work nicely with routine upgrade.
puppetdashboard worked nicely with the puppet labs ppa deb

Certificate errors
Hi all,
I launched a Puppet service a few month ago and it did function pretty well
for some time.
Last week, I tried to clean old entries but I think I deleted too much
information as I can no more synchronize my clients.
I get a certificate error :
*[root@REBITPUPPET01 ~]# puppet agent --test

continue:

puppet dashboard
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and ruby-enterprise (not ubuntu ruby) and installed puppet via gem.
How can I install puppet-dashboard if I don''t see a gem available and if I use the ubuntu package, i get the whole slop of ruby packages sucked in (which i am trying to avoid)?
# dpkg -i puppet-dashboard_1.1.0-1_all.deb

problems with .forward
My old Centos 5.5 servers had a /root/.forward to send things like
logwatch to this email account. It did not take any special
configuration in sendmail for this to work.
Now Centos 6.3 is using postfix (as we well know, and generally I am
happy for this) and I have set up the /root/.forward as always, but it
seems like postfix is ignoring it. I have restarted postfix with no
difference in
