Can't get Sweave syntax highlighting with Emacs
I can't get Emacs to automatically do syntax highlighting of Sweave files. I have followed Friedrich's suggestion for code to insert into my .emacs file. The complete section from my .emacs file is given below. When I load a *.Snw file, font is white until I press M-x, then the first code and document chunks get highlighted, but not the rest of the file. Latex and Noweb menus are

rails on emacs - need a working .emacs sample
I would like to hear from some one who has ecb, multiple modes with ruby mode + html mode, rails mode all working together and playing well. I had ecb working with Ruby syntax highlighting. That was a no-brainer since I just had to apt-get them on my Debian Sarge box. It got a bit more comlex after I got most of the .el files in the articles http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/emacs/RubyOnRails

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Fix Emacs package formatting
Hi I'd like users to be able to install the LLVM major modes from MELPA[1], the most popular Emacs package repository. However, these files are not well-formed packages. I've made the following changes: * Both files have valid package headers and footers (you can verify with M-x checkdoc). * Fixed style warnings generated by checkdoc. * Fixed a byte-compiler warning in llvm-mode.el. *

Working comfortably with (X)Emacs + Sweave
Dear List, I am trying to become more familiar with Sweave at the moment, beacuse I am convinced that it will eventually make my life easier. However, I have not found anything relevant in the mail archives about the following problem. Both the article in R-News and the Sweave FAQ suggest that Emacs would be a great development environment for working with Sweave. So far, it doesn't seem to

VIM Syntax Highlighting
Has anyone got vim to have syntax highlighting with R function codes? I know there's something similar that works with emacs (ESS or something like that), but I was wondering if anyone knew an equivalent that worked with vim. syntax highlight
Hi All, I''m aware of the vim/emacs extension, any one knows about enscript or similar support? (it would be great to have syntax highlighting in trac for example). R-code in html help pages: syntax highlighting
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, A follow up to my previous post. It'd be good to have syntax highlighting in the html help pages. There is highlight (http://www.andre-simon.de/) which seems to be open source. Since code is delimited in the help file format, it should not be too difficult to run a highlighting program (actually, vim and emacs do this too) recursively and

Sweave and Xemacs on Windows2000?
Hallo! Trying to configure Xemacs to work with .snw files on windows 2000. Tried to do it how it is described in the FAQ for Sweaves. When starting xemacs with and Snw file *ESS* buffer contains hundrets of lines and the few last ones. EMACS and ESS
Fedora Linux 8 R 2.6.1 Intel CPU I am trying to get started with R under Linux. It has been suggested to me that I run R under EMACS. I have looked at the CRAN website, and several other places to try to find an RPM for EMACS and, if I need it for ESS. I have not succeeded in finding one. Can someone tell me where to go to get the RPMs? If anyone would have a suggestion for an editor other than

[LLVMdev] VIM syntax highlighting
I have made a vim syntax highlighting script for LLVM. It can be found at llvm/utils/vim/llvm.vim. You should copy this file to your ~/.vim/syntax/ directory and add the following lines to your .vimrc file to have it automatically load on a .ll file. augroup filetype au! BufRead,BufNewFile *.ll set filetype=llvm augroup END Misha claims to be making a script for all you emacs

emacs 21.1, R-1.3.1, and ESS
On RedHat linux 7.2, I upgraded (?) Emacs and R at the same time and now I'm getting some funny business with R and ESS. I reinstalled ESS from the tarball and re-byte-compiled. In particular, help.start() does work, and ESS works to send text regions to the R process, but ?function does not return anything, and the status line says "ESS process not ready. Brace highlighting in R for the PC?
Hey everyone, Might it be possible for future versions of PC-R to highlight the opening brace in a pair, a la emacs? Programs that do that are infinitely friendlier than those that don't.
