Puppetmaster with apache/passenger on SL6
Dear experts, Since I''ve moved my *puppetmaster* form SL5 (Scientific Linux) to SL6 with SELinux on, I''m facing loads of trouble. I also move away from WEBrick to apache/passenger, following the instruction here: http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/1/wiki/Using_Passenger > and I can''t start httpd any more. It fails with this: Starting httpd: (98)Address

openSUSE in domU on a CentOS dom0
Hi there, I am new to Xen. Just began trying it out from day-before. I have a CentOS 4.4 install on my hda6 partition. And I have a openSUSE 10.2 install on my hda8 partition. For openSUSE 10.2, I chose the Xen options while installing, and so I have the xen kernels too installed. For CentOS 4.4, I downloaded the Xen 3.0.2 source and compiled from there. (I followed the instructions at this

problem with templates
I am having an issue with templates that I cant quite figure out why it is having an issue. I am using ruby dsl to read a template from a database and it keeps having problems with anything other than <%= var %> type definitions. I even went as far cutting and pasting from the puppet online documentation just to see if it were maybe something I goofed. I pasted below the tested template

Where can I get samba-vscan from?
Hi there! Am using CentOS 4.4. Have installed Samba and ClamAV. My understanding is that there's a vfs module (samba-vscan) which I have to install for Samba to virus scan its shares. Where can I get it from? I tried stuff like "yum install samba-vscan" etc but it doesn't seem to be there in the repos. I have RPMForge and the usual CentOS repos enabled. Is this something I have

how to reproduce the same sampled units?
Hi all, Is it possible to generate the same sample number of times in R? In SAS, using the option "seed" it is possible to reproduce exactly the same sample. Is there any such feature in R which I can use? For further clarity, for (i in 1:2) { samp = sample(1:1000,100,replace = FALSE) print(samp) } For the above simulation, is it possible to generate the same sampled units

LLVM flags for Vectorization
Hi, I have been analyzing the LLVM vectorizer by running some benchmarks. For vectorization, I have used the following flags: -O3 -ffast-math -mavx2 Am I missing any other flags which will improve vectorizer performance? Node or site.pp for global variables without dynamic lookup
Hi all, I am working on rewriting my entire puppet environment and try to ''fix'' ''Dynamic lookup'' as it will be deprecated in some time, but even after reading quite some docs and on the forum, it''s not really clear to me. What I have read so far, is that each variable must be fully-qualified or parameterized in a class. As a quick

Reading large SAS dataset in R
Hi all, I have a large (approx. 1 GB) SAS dataset (test.sas7bdat) located in the server (“R:/” directory). I have SAS 9.1 installed in my PC and I can read the SAS dataset in SAS, under a windows environment, after assigning libname in "R:\" directory. Now I am trying to read the SAS dataset in R (R 2.12.0) using the read.ssd function of the “foreign” package, but I get an error

plot within a loop

I want 6 plots (say) in a page and rests are in different pages. win.graph() starts a plot in new page. But I'm not being able to combine par(mfrow = c(3,2)) and win.graph() within a loop. > d [1] 14.108 13.883 11.022 13.426 2.341 9.010 12.868 15.603 30.810 3.931 11.825

How to define a hash table and loop over them in a definition?
This may have been asked before, if so, please excuse me and point me to the right direction. What I want to do is to define a hash table with multiple key->value pairs. I would like to pass this variable to a file template and generate a result file with all the mappings listed. Based on what I read, I need to do it in a definition. But does Puppet supports loop over a hash? Any help would

copying file(s) from agent to master??
Is there a way to copy file(s) from the Puppet agent back to the master? I know it sounds silly but that''s what I need to do. This is one of the s/w-tag files, gets created/modified automatically by the software installation job and then I want to overwrite the tag files on two other agents with this one. Is there a why for doing this? Cheers, San -- You received this message because

intercept/pre-process cert request?
I''m assuming this is possible, but I can''t find a good starting point anywhere, so I''m hoping someone here can help. What I want to do is, somewhere in the cert approval process, run an extra check before saying yes. I have a puppet master running with auto sign turned on, I bring up a puppet agent, it connects, authenticates and all is good. What I''d like
