UK Encryption ban legislation {from: [comp.risks] RISKS DIGEST 18.95}
I think this is an issue of serious interest to many of the subscribers
of these lists; it would effectively ban a lot of security-related tools
that many of use now find indispensable, e.g. ssh, pgp.

Question on clicking
This isn't an asterisk question, more of a telco question. Hopefully
someone on this list involved with telco can answer it.
I have a client who is using asterisk with analog phone lines. There
is a bad clicking noise on the line. "Click.... Click.... Click".

fencing nodes with drac under 5.9
Hi all,
A recent update to CentOS 5.9 has broken my cluster's ability to fence
nodes. I have two Dell's which are both fenced via their DRAC6 cards. The
current configuration in cluster.conf for the fencing devices is:
<fencedevice agent="fence_drac5" cmd_prompt="admin1->"
ipaddr="192.168.251.11" login="fencer" name="ms1-drac"

the website ban me when I use mechanize to grab its content, how to solve it?
Dear all,
I keep grab photos from one website.
At first I show them the default user agent (WWW-Mechanize). But
obviously they don''t like this behavior and ban the user agent
WWW-Mechanize. So I have to forge an IE user agent. It works for some
time. But the website administrator seemed to detect my behavior and
banned me again. This time I can not bypass it by simply modifying the

Varnish-ban-manager + vhosts
Hi guys.
've installed varnish-ban-manager (
https://github.com/dot2code/varnish-bans-manager) and I'm currently
configuring it's DNS name. The thing is that I've set in Route53 (DNS
service in AWS) to use name http:// purge.domain.com / pointing to http://
varnish_server_name.com/. The thing is, if I test with http ://
purge.domain .com:9000/ it works normally, but using http: //

IP ban list by country
Hi everyone,
I know it's off topic from Asterisk directly but yet related.
What sources do you use to limit SIP connecting customers to specific
countries by IP (e.g. allowing USA and not China). It would help me a lot of
you can note the sources you trust that are complete and up to date.
Thanks

[PATCH libnbd] configure: Ban use of Variable Length Arrays (VLAs).
Since we don't know much about the calling environment, which might
have a limited stack, might be taking input from untrusted sources, or
we might not have other stack protections enabled, it's best to be
cautious about using unbounded stack allocations.
We're not in fact using them in libnbd, but this change prevents them
from being added in future.

Ban dots in folder names
Hello Dovecot Community,
I am using Dovecot 2.2.13-12~deb8u1 (Debian Jessie).
separator = /
listescape plugin is NOT active
LAYOUT=fs is NOT active
I would like to prohibit/ban the creation of folders with dot "." in the
names -
so creation of a folder "foo.bar" should NOT be possible.
Currently, when I create "foo.bar" in Outlook 2013 it will be created
but

Ban Atomia.com?
Can a mail admin ban atomia.com from posting? I mean, I like the idea that every post is clogging up their support queue, but really, not that much.

want to ban XP Home Edition
Just for sake of curiosity:
Is that possible ?
I'd like to support XP Pro *only* and to ban any other Windows OS
(no 2000 server or 2003 server machines in here).
Samba works in domain mode with Ldap backend.
Cheers,

Kick/Ban listener ip
I s it possible to block access to all users from :"
p????????.dip.t-dialin.net" with IceCast or Shoutcast servers? These
users seem to always attach themselves to the stream and even when
banned continue to try to reconnect for hours.
