maximum difference between two ECDF's
Hello, I have a vector of samples x of length N. Associated with each sample x_i is a certain weight w_i. All the weights are in another vector w of the same length N. I have another vector of samples y of length n (small n). All these samples have equal weights 1/n. The ECDF of these samples is defined as for example at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empirical_distribution_function and I can

boxplot.formula with missing values (PR#6846)
If an array has missing values in different rows, plotting using the formul= a=20 interface can produce errors. Example: fake.data <- matrix(rep(-100:100, 4), ncol =3D 4) par(mfrow =3D c(1,2)) boxplot(fake.data ~ col(fake.data)) abline(h =3D 0, lty =3D 2) boxplot(as.data.frame(fake.data)) abline(h =3D 0, lty =3D 2) ##### Add the missing data fake.data[190:200, 1] <-

linux problems
Hi, I am facing two problems in Linux , if you can help me with these. 1. I have to generate keyboard /mouse interrupt from my program which xlock can recognize so that prompt will appear on it. The interrupt will be generated from a program running at the background. It is required in my project. 2. I have started a program in /usr/bin/startkde, which was necessary at that time only, has

problem with charset and encoding
Hello everyone, We are having some troubles since we updated dovecot from 2.0.10 to 2.1.6. With 2.0.10 with messages with this headers: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Showed the special characters fine. However, with this new version, there are special characters that are not correctly showed. For example: "Su c=F3digo de

xscreensaver lock problem resolved!
Hello to all: I'd like to thank everyone who offered insight to why xscreensaver lock wasn't working. Just this morning I performed a last-minute search, based on some leads, of possible pam configuration issues. One URL that popped up via google was http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/libs//pam/FAQ Q9 contained a lead to make `which xlock` setuid root (chmod +s). I did this for

permissions for printing
I have just installed Samba for the following configuration: AIX 4.2, with NT clients We are trying to print from clients to unix printers through a Progress (database) program. On unix, I would identify my destination as "lp -s -dprinter1". Now, I indicate "//rs6000/printer1". People in our systems department (and therefore, people with "root" privileges) can

nt acl support = no ???
'llo, It was suggested that I added "nt acl support = no" to my smb.conf file, in order to get rid of the "error packet at line 588 cmd=115 (SMBsesssetupX)eclass=2 ecode=2" error. (Apparently it has something to do with Word's temporary files that are created with mode 000 which stops it from completing a file save.) I added this to my smb.conf file

hmmm.. oplock problem on smb craches MS Word ... ?!?
We run samba 2.0.3 and it works fine since several weeks, until these days... Since two days I get lots of problems with samba. Oplocks seems to cause troubles, and it crashes MS Word in such messages: "unrecoverable network error" indefinitely until Dr Watson (under NT). We run 2.0.3 with samba as PDC. Quite all the clients run NT 4.0. Here is the entry I encounter very often in the

Controlling unix print queues from PC
I'm running Samba 2.0.3 from the pre-built binary (ftp://sunsite.org.uk/packages/samba/Binary_Packages/solaris/samba-2.0.3 -sunos-4.1.3.tar.Z) on a Sun IPX with SunOS 4.1.3_U1. I've defined a printer in smb.conf, from a PC (NT 4.0) I can send prints to it and view the queue OK but I can't manage the queue in any way. Attempts to cancel prints and stop or start the queue from the PC

How to set up spooling for a HP JetDirect interface?
I've set up Samba and LPRng for HP printers with JetDirect cards. It works for one user at a time. But if the printer is off-line or busy, the samba client does not get an error message, but the job gets lost. :( I would like the print jobs to be spooled on Linux even when there is an active print job or when the printer is off-line. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with lpd. The

problem getting R 2.3.1 svn r38481 to pass make check-all
Hi, I noticed this problem on my home desktop running FC4 and again on my laptop running FC5. Both have previously compiled and passed make check-all on 2.3.1 svn revisions from 10 days ago or so. On both these machines, make check-all is consistently failing (4 out of 4 attempts on the FC 4 desktop and 3 out of 3 on the FC 5 laptop) in the p-r-random-tests tests. This is with both default

fechas ??
¿Alguna idea? fechas1
