Disk error 00, drive F0
Hello,
I have recently downloaded Sorcerer GNU Linux (http://sorcerer.wox.org/)
which uses ISOLINUX for booting the installation CD-ROM.
Problem is, I can not get the CD-ROM to boot. I have tested it on
another computer, and it works fine (The CD-ROM has been written
correctly).
When I boot it on my home system, it gives me this error message:

Samba not announcing the correct IP address to a Windows NT Wins server
We have two systems with dual NICs that run samba 2.2.5 with winbind, and
neither of them is announcing the system's primary IP address correctly to
the WINS server. The systems show up in the wins database with the
secondary IP address (which is the private network we use for the
heartbeat/meta data on our CXFS cluster). We worked around it by entering
the correct IP addresses for these

Allowed code pages and encodings to write f0.txt through f1.txt?
Hi there.
Slackware's installer, that I am internationalizing, makes use of ISOLINUX.
I want to give instructions to users in other languages than US English, e.g. which code to type
to see installation messages in their native language.
So my question are:
(1) Which character encodings can be used in message.txt and f1.txt through f1O.txt?
(2) Is UTF-8 allowed?
(3) I'm guessing that

Latest CVS: small portability issues
Hi!
I just run a test build of the latest CVS on HP-UX 10.20 and found two
issues, both related to the new mdoc2man.pl support:
- In Makefile.in, line 122, the construction
$(MANPAGES): %.out: %
is used. HP's "make" command does not understand this syntax (gmake does).
- In configure, the first "perl" command in the PATH seems to be found.
On HP-UX this is an

YUM provider bombs out on ''latest'' if the server is not available.
I''ve noticed that, should the yum server go down, any packages
requiring the ''latest'' version get thrown an error and anything
depending on them does not run.
This does not seem to be correct to me since, should a yum provider
not be available, the installed version (if one is installed) should
be considered the latest version.
I hacked a ''rescue''

pw_expire/pw_change in current portable openssh CVS bombs
The references to pw_expire and pw_change in pwcopy() in misc.c cause
compilation errors at least on solaris. How about doing a memcpy of the
whole structure and only explicitly setting those that need xstrdup?
That would work on openbsd and everywhere else.

[Bug 45] configure refines a function in skey, which then bombs
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45
------- Additional Comments From tim at multitalents.net 2002-01-31 16:37 -------
Autoconf uses char (*f) (); in all it's AC_CHECK_FUNC tests.
Seems like skey should be fixed.
Feel free to provide a patch to autoconf.ac that uses AC_TRY_RUN
instead of AC_CHECK_FUNC(skey_keyinfo,

Enter key in data editor bombs program in MDI (PR#11579)
Full_Name: Michael H
Version: 2.7
OS: Windows XP SP3
Submission from: (NULL) (74.74.76.1)
When running R with the multiple document interface, pressing enter in the data
editor causes the program to crash with the following command:
Dataset <- edit(as.data.frame(NULL))
This problem persists when using the fix command, such as fix(Dataset).
Interestingly, the arrow keys and mouse work fine

Perl v5.6.0 breaks the configure script
Hi,
The new version of perl v5.6.0 breaks the configure script.
When it tests for the version the current test
perl -v| sed -n 's/^.*perl.*version \(.\).*/\1/p'
returns null.
perl -v now returns:
This is perl, v5.6.0 built for ppc-linux
