Problem with DHCP and default route in CentOS
I have a CentOS 6.4 VM that is getting its DHCP information from dnsmasq (a libvirt instance). However, it is not applying the routing information. Attached is a tcpdump of the dhcpc output. You'll see: Default-Gateway Option 3, length 4: 192.168.122.1 However, when I run 'route -n', I get: # route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask

WinXP Pro can't join Domain (Samba PDC) after server migration but current domain machine are OK
Hi, I had a Samba PDC running on unstable hardware. I migrate everything on a new machine, I transferred all the configuration files (smb.conf, smbpasswd, .), transferred all the users and groups. Everything was working 100% until I had to join a new machine to Domain, WinXP Pro SP2 can't find de Domin Controler, but all the WinXP Pro SP2 that where already in the Domain before the migration

Can't kill smbd process
Hi, Since this week my Samba keep accumulating smbd process that keep lock on files and neither me as root or samba itself can't kill. The only way to release the locked files is to reboot the machine and this is really annoying for all the clients. I read in a forum that this might be link with a kernel corruption, but this threads hasn't been active in a long time and wasn't so

dhcpcd.conf
Hi, ran into a problem w/ linode hosted VM where IPv6 address changed after they migrated it to a different host. They claim I can fix it with sed -i 's/slaac private/slaac hwaddr/' /etc/dhcpcd.conf However there appears to be no dhcpcd.conf on any of my CentOS 7 systems. What is the CentOS 7 equivalent?

Samba connection problem btw RH7.3 and WinME
Hi All Guys, I just join this list I am going to experiment a crossover connection between a WinME box and a RH7.3 Box. The setting of WinME is without problem. It can communicate with another WinME box or a WinXP box with crossover connection. I don't use password to login in both boxes I have Samba-2.2.3a running on a RH7.3 box #service smb start/stop Everything OK without complaint

Can you explain me this behaviour please?
Hi, I found a behaviour of rsync I cannot explain. 1) rsync -vaS --delete-after --include-from=/etc/rsync.inc --exclude-from=/etc/rsync.ex / server:/ 2) rsync -vaS --relative --delete-after --include-from=/etc/rsync.inc --exclude-from=/etc/rsync.ex / server:/ I sync most of one server to another as a fallback server. I had the relative option first (dont know anymore why), then

Can I mount an NFS volume and re-export via SAMBA?
We have an NFS filer right now that we need to provide our windows users access too. For various reasons they won't use SFU, etc. In our legacy environment we have a file server that does NFS/CIFS natively. In our new environment not so much. We want to provide this service to our users and the solution proposed to me is to utilize SAMBA as the mechanism to do so. After doing exhaustive

PRI Errors again... sigh.
So it was working for several days without error then tonight while I'm watching users login to the modem pool - BOOM! The sync changes when it happens (which makes sense). Firewalls (was: Sigh....ok once more with feeling)
I'm sure you all already know this, but it's generally better to have the firewall be a separate physical machine from any server or client machines. Among other reasons, if an attacker can exploit an application running on the firewall machine, the efficacy of the firewall is compromised. You should dedicate a hardened, minimally configured machine for firewall use. If you have lots of

Multiple Domains/Workgroups (again sigh)
Hi All, After a couple of months break (and running only a single instance of SAMBA) I once again need to try and get two simultaneous instances of SAMBA running on the same machine, each serving up a different domain/workgroup. Here's the scoop: one machine, with dual NICs, the first one is on 192.168.1 (students) and the second one is on 192.168.2 (staff). Here's the diff on the conf

Sigh....ok once more with feeling
The firewall didnt help matters. I think its FUBAR and I need to reformat anyways, so ill reformat and reinstall and put fresh SAMBA up, on Mandrake 9.0. The system has 2 NICs and NET_MASQ shares internet to the XP machine. Therein it acts as a DHCP server and has a firewall. I will open 139 from the start next time.

[LLVMdev] [lld] ELF weak aliases
How are you modeling weak aliases in Atoms? mach-o does not support weak aliases. My mental model of a weak alias is: If foo is a weak alias for bar, then if nothing else defines bar, use foo in place of bar. -Nick On Jan 8, 2013, at 4:50 PM, Michael Spencer wrote: > So I just got lua to link and run and work on x86-64 Linux with musl > and lld. AGI Flakyness *sigh*
Well, I'm about ready to throw Asterisk across the room. Can someone tell me WHY, when you've sent a Dial command to Asterisk via AGI, if the callee hangs up the call, Asterisk sends a return code, but if the caller hangs up, it does not??? This means if an agi script services a call, and after the two parties have finished speaking, the person who initiated the call hangs up, the agi

[LLVMdev] [lld] ELF weak aliases
So I just got lua to link and run and work on x86-64 Linux with musl and lld. It did require one change to hack around incorrect handling of ELF weak aliases. In musl __stdio_exit.c <http://git.musl-libc.org/cgit/musl/tree/src/stdio/__stdio_exit.c> we have: static FILE *const dummy_file = 0; weak_alias(dummy_file, __stdin_used); weak_alias(dummy_file, __stdout_used); weak_alias(dummy_file,
