learning, but puppet does not detect change
Hi, I''ve just installed Puppet on two CentOS 5.5 servers, "S" for "A". "A" does not have the ntp package installed nor of course ntp running. The Puppet server is started on "S" with the ntp class from this tutorial: http://bitfieldconsulting.com/puppet-tutorial (included below) however when I run the agent on "A" it don''t

Re: Need to increase the rx and tx buffer size of my interface
Hi Yalan and Michal, Thank you for your response. So what I understand is that I can change rx_queue size even if I use direct type interface and qemu driver as long as the driver is virtio. Am I right? If that is the case why am I getting the error saying that error: XML document failed to validate against schema: Unable to validate doc against /usr/share/libvirt/schemas/domain.rng Extra

Re: Need to increase the rx and tx buffer size of my interface
Hi Michal, I installed the latest version from the git and did run the libvirt from the new directory using /home/to/your/checkout/daemon/libvirtd But I still see that the version is 1.3.1. I have also stopped the already running libvirt daemon and ran the new daemon from the directory and it is showing 1.3.1 Best Regards, Ashish Kurian On Thu, Oct 26, 2017 at 10:50 AM, Ashish Kurian

Re: Need to increase the rx and tx buffer size of my interface
Hi Yalan, In the previous email you mentioned "tx_queue_size='512' will not work in the guest with direct type interface, in fact, no matter what you set, it will not work and guest will get the default '256'. " So if I am using macvtap for my interfaces, then the device type will always be direct type. Does it mean that there is no way I can increase the buffer size

Hi Ashish, IMO, it is yes, no way to increase tx_queue_size for direct type interface ------- Best Regards, Yalan Zhang IRC: yalzhang Internal phone: 8389413 On Thu, Oct 26, 2017 at 3:38 PM, Ashish Kurian <ashishbnv@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi Yalan, > > In the previous email you mentioned "tx_queue_size='512' will not work in > the guest with direct type

Re: Need to increase the rx and tx buffer size of my interface
Hi Michal, An update to what I have already said : when I try adding <driver name='qemu' txmode='iothread' ioeventfd='on' event_idx='off' queues='1' rx_queue_size='512' tx_queue_size='512'> although it showed me the error as mentioned, when I checked the xml again I saw that <driver name='qemu' txmode='iothread'

Re: Need to increase the rx and tx buffer size of my interface
Hi Yalan, Thank you for your response. I do not have the following packages installed vhost backend driver qemu-kvm-rhev package Are these packages available for free? How can I install them? In my KVM VM, I must have an IP address to the interfaces that I am trying to increasing the buffers. That is the reason I was using macvtap (direct type interface). Is it possible to have my interfaces

DNS or firewall problem
Been working this for over a month now and I'm stumped. Everything was working until the 'crash'. Backup was no good so I did a fresh install of centos 5.5. Trying to get things back like they were but its been a really long time since I had to set things up from scratch, Redhat 2.0. My centos server acts as a gateway/firewall/router for my home network. Internal machines can access

Puppet client dying without errors
Few of my puppet clients (puppet 0.24.8, ruby 1.8.5, facter 1.5.2) are dying with out any error messages on on syslog. I cannot see much system resource usage on these nodes. What is the best way to troubleshoot the root cause of the problem? -Basil -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. GLM/GAM and unobserved heterogeneity
Hello, I'm interested in correcting for and measuring unobserved heterogeneity ("missing variables") using R. In particular, I'm searching for a simple way to measure the amount of unobserved heterogeneity remaining in a series of increasingly complex models (adding additional variables to each new model) on the same data. I have a static database of 400,000 or

Live webcam stream with Theora
Hey all, I've setup a simple page that just displays a live webcam stream of me at work, and it supposedly falls back onto Cortado if your browser doesn't support the <video> tag. The URL is here: http://media.basilgohar.com/stream/ There's been a lot of talk about live streaming and low bitrate streams. Here is my command line (I've posted this before): time ffmpeg -f

MariaDB 10.X Master-Slave Replication
Hi, I am configuring master-slave replication in a MariaDB 10.X over Centos 7.1 and I am having some troubles. When I configure the slave I use the following directies in my.cnf: ... master-host = 192.168.122.2 master-user = slave_user master-password = qwerty master-connect-retry = 60 ... But is seems that the daemon doesn't like them and it refuses to

Verify that user replication between master and slave through the logs?
Hello guys, On my other e-mail does not properly explain what I was looking for. I made the data replication between two domain controllers Samba 4. At this point everything is okay. When I create a user, for example in master, after a few seconds the slave already have this user. What I want to know is how can I verify that user replication between master and slave through the logs? -- Elias

Theora for webcam/conferencing use
Hey Theorans, Yesterday and today I decided to try out broadcasting a video stream using Theora from my computer's built-in webcam. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, while maintaining a rate of less than 150kbps, the stream was of quite a suitable quality sending 640x480 video at 15 frames per second. For now, this is video only, by the way, I did not include any audio in the stream
