Dragonfly and Zip uploads
I''m poring through the Dragonfly source code right now, trying to get a handle on how to apply the following technique there: Client uploads a Zip archive containing N images, PDF files, text files, etc. When that file arrives at the server, but before it is stored as an attachment to the current object, the Zip is burst open, contents are iterated over, and each contained file is saved

Nodes Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: execution expired
Almost 4-5% of the total number of nodes are not receiving catalog from the master on an hourly run. We have about 250 nodes. The nodes that are receiving this error are rather random. The hourly cron happens almost at the same time. Is there any configuration changes for Puppet that can be done to avoid this ? Slow Printing from XP clients with SP2?
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. >From an XP machine printing to a SAMBA printer, printing is painfully slow. Selecting the printer, and even sending the job through windows makes the app appear non-responsive. The print job is completed fine, but just takes a long time to print. XP boxes with SP1 print like a dream. I've managed to replicate this on 4 boxes

I am currently configuring puppet for our environment and have seperated development/back office from production through configuring roles for each server to identify them as such. Abacus DOS problem Lock Selector
A lawyer in California is trying to change to linux. In CA, there are a number of programs required by the courts, and so far none are ported to linux at any price. His reason for wishing to change has to do with the fact that Microsoft now controls his access to his own files, and he finds this unacceptable. I tried one of his apps, an old DOS version of Abacus. Using the WINe with Redhat

/proc/xen/memory_target patch
This patch to the balloon driver eliminates the need for a user-space program to slosh memory between domains and xen. This uses a proc file at /proc/xen/memory_target. When read it reports memory the domain owns in bytes. Writing a new value to the memory_target proc file will cause the domain to exchange memory with xen to reach the target. A xenolinux domain cannot grow bigger than it was

Do Frontends need to care about alignment?
Meant to add more text, but somehow the email got sent. Could you explain why for some of these cases? If I set the right target and only want to operate with the system C ABI, will LLVM not generate correct code if I want to pay say structs to a system defined function? I see clang specifying alignment, but I'm not sure why. I want to understand beyond alignment and function ABI (which for

sum(..., na.rm=TRUE) oddity
Hi all, I get two different results when using sum() and the switch na.rm. The result is correct when na.rm=FALSE. Linux Redhat 7.3, R version 1.6.1. I've had no luck searching the mail archives, so I was hoping somebody could explain/check this one for me. I will need to apply the function to missing data, simple as it is. Code: x<-matrix(runif(20,0,5)%/%1,4,5) # random matrix
