Ruby DSL parameterized classes and defaults
I''ve been reading the Docs on this, and its not very clear.
I want to have a parameterized class that takes arrays and objects as
parameters.
I''m using puppet 2.6.16.
I define a hostclass like this:
hostclass :test, :arguments => { :param1 => "blah" } do
end
I call from Puppet DSL:
class {"test":
}
I get this as an error:

define hostclass with special characters
Hi,
I need to define the hostclass with special character for ex:
"swift::proxy-ring"
I have tried following ways but not worked:
1) hostclass :swift::proxy-ring do
2) hostclass ''swift::proxy-ring'' do
3) hostclass "swift::proxy-ring" do
When I am using the 2 and 3 options it is giving following erroe:

what's the best way to save global variables?
I am writing a kind of long program in R and I have some variables which I want to be globals. Where should I save them? I was thinking to create a function wich initialize all the global variables and then whenever I need them, I call this function.
What if I create a file glob.R with
var1<-val1
var2<-val2
.....
etc.
How do I include this file in my other files/function . Is there in

How to define class inheritance with Puppet Ruby DSL
I have a module "Ruby":
# init.pp
class ruby {
package { ''libldap-ruby1.8'':
ensure => ''installed''
}
}
Then I have a manifest written with Ruby-DSL, which should inherit this
module:
# ldap.rb
hostclass ''ruby::ldap'' do
(...)
end
How do I define that *ruby::ldap* inherits *ruby*?

using a dictionary in R
Hi all,
Is there a way to create a "dictionary" in R, such that it has <key,value>
pairs?
Something to the effect of:
x=dictionary(c("Hi","Why","water") , c(1,5,4))
x["Why"]=5
In truth I'm looking two categorial variables function.
So that if x=dictionary(c("a","b"),c(5,2))
x val 1 a 5 2 b 2

[RFC, PATCH 17/24] i386 Vmi msr patch
Fairly straightforward code motion of MSR / TSC / PMC accessors
to the sub-arch level. Note that rdmsr/wrmsr_safe functions are
not moved; Linux relies on the fault behavior here in the event
that certain MSRs are not supported on hardware, and combining
this with a VMI wrapper is overly complicated. The instructions
are virtualizable with trap and emulate, not on critical code
paths, and only

Mac OS X plist resource type spec
Nigel Kersten and I had previously worked on a plist provider spec for Mac
OS X. Attached is a PDF of the current state. I would appreciate any input
and criticisms.

[LLVMdev] vmkit on x86_64
Hello,
I'm trying to compile vmkit on a x86_64 linux box with gcc-4.1.2, but
I'm running into troubles because of various problems with casts
between pointers and integers. Is there anybody who succeeded in this
task? Az I see, some of the problems can be fixed with an appropriate
typedef/macro declaration, but in VMCore/JavaObject.cpp some lowlevel
bitmanipulation is used, to mark

How to use conditional statement
Dear R helpers
Suppose
val1 = c(10, 20, 35, 80, 12)
val2 = c(3, 8, 11, 7)
I want to select either val1 or val2 depending on value of third quantity val3.
val3 assumes either of the values "Monthly" or "Yearly".
If val3 = "Monthly", then val = val1 and if val3 = "Yearly", then val = val2.
I tried the ifelse statement as
ifelse(val3 =

[LLVMdev] vmkit on x86_64
Hi Zsombor,
Thanks for the patch! Unfortunately I can't apply it because the llvm
API has moved from BinaryOperator::create to BinaryOperator::Create. Are
you using svn head?
Now on the x86_64 part. There has been very little work on porting vmkit
on x86_64. If you're having compilation problems, I suppose it's in the
garbage collector directory (GCMmap2). If you could make the

good and bad ways to import fixed column data (rpy)
Recorded here so others may avoid my mistakes.
I have a bunch of files containing fixed width data. The R Data guide
suggests that one pre-process them with a script if they are large.
They were 50MG and up, and I needed to process another file that gave
the layout of the lines anyway.
I tried rpy to not only preprocess but create the R data object in one
go. It seemed like a good idea; it

preparing data for barplot()
What is the best way to produce a barplot from my data? I would like
the barplot to show each person with the values stacked
val1+val2+val3, so there is one bar for each person When I use
barplot(data.matrix(realdata)), it shows one bar for each value
instead.
To post here, I created an artificical data set, but it works fine.
fakedata <- as.data.frame(list(LETTERS[1:3]))
colnames(fakedata)

Memory Store/Load Optimization Issue (Emulating stack)
Hello,
I am trying to emulate the "stack" as like on x86 when using push/pop so
afterwards I can use LLVM's optimizer passes to simplify (reduce junk) the
code.
The LLVM IR code:
define { i32, i32, i32 } @test(i32 %foo, i32 %bar, i32 %sp) {
; push foo (On "stack")
%sp_1 = sub i32 %sp, 4
%sp_1_ptr = inttoptr i32 %sp_1 to i32*
store i32 %foo, i32* %sp_1_ptr, align

[LLVMdev] About porting llvm-gcc frontend.
I am porting llvm-gcc frontend. We have ported GCC4.2 for our target. So I move *.h *.md and *.c to llvm-gcc. I do not implement any LLVM MACRO, and use default action of llvm-gcc. I get a new llvm-gcc for our target. But I get a bug.

Barplot with lines
Hi,
I'm trying to plot stacked barplot with lines on it. Here is the data.
emp days val1 val2 score
1 21 1 0 1200
2 35 1 1 na
3 42 na na 3000
4 53 2 1 2100
5 64 1 0 na
6 73 na na 1400
My X-axis is days. I'm looking to plot val1,val2 as stacked bars and score
as lines with different y-axis. I could get the bar plot and lines on it
but the problem is the bars and lines are not aligning
