mpd has support for flac!
Hello,
http://musicpd.sf.net just came out today, with (amongst many other things)
support for flac. MPD is a very stable, lean Music Playing Daemon written
in C, that can be interfaced several different ways, through php, plain old
telnet, there is a CLI on the way, and a GTK2 client on the way also.
Please give it a try and tell us what you think @ irc.oftc.net #mpd.
Thanks

[LLVMdev] speed and code size issues
We have some results that are somewhat entertaining and that relate to the
size/speed discussion.
The basic idea is exhaustive generation of C functions where "exhaustive"
is qualified by some structural restrictions (depth of AST, node type,
etc.).
For one particular set of restrictions we ended up with about 7 million C
functions. We then compiled each of these functions with 7

[LLVMdev] speed and code size issues
Very interesting study!
However as others have asked, I would like to see some aggregated data.
Also, how do you verify that the generated code is correct? How are you
systematically generating these tests?
In summary, do you have any paper coming along? :)
Thanks,
Nuno

Lost WINS lookup in net command on 3.0beta2
I had compiled and set up one 3.0beta2 server on S390 Linux, and successfully joined our Win2k AD domain. Everything was working well, and I went to rebuild Samba on Intel. When I tried to join the
domain using my new build, net join complained about not being able to find the DC.
net join -Uxxxxx%pppppp with debug level 5 results in the following:

Can no longer connect to rsync server since new router, but sometimes it works?!
Hi,
I've been searching the web for days for an answer to this weird problem. I hope you guys can shed some light on this.
A few months ago our office has changed internet provider, and hence we use a different router/DSL-modem: a ZyXEL P-2602H-D1A
Ever since the change our nightly rsync from our office server to our external webserver, which runs an rsync daemon, refuses to work... at

Is there an add-on package in R for QTL interval mapping for outbred

File timestamp and robocopy
Hi all,
I'm trying to sincronize a share from a W2K to a samba 3.0.13-1 server.
The problem i'm having has to do with the timestamps of the file that causes
every file to get recopied by robocopy every time.
Example:
Doing a stat on the Samba side:
File: `client.dat'
Size: 7804 Blocks: 16 IO Block: 4096 regular file
Device: 6807h/26631d Inode: 8815015

backup script exit with error (probably because of tar warning)
Hi dear list members
It's some time that we have issue regarding backup script of samba 4.0.10.
It exits with error: "Error while archiving
/home/a/samba-backup/samba4_private.121114.tar.bz2"
After some troubleshooting, I noticed it is PROBABLY because of tar,
issuing this warning with the exit code of 1:
"tar: ./private: file changed as we read it"
It is related to this
