compiling libarchive
Has anyone been able to compile libarchive and archivemount? I want to
use this with fuse.
The compile is very tough for libarchive, I keep getting
c -o tar/bsdtar-util.o `test -f 'tar/util.c' || echo './'`tar/util.c
mv -f tar/.deps/bsdtar-util.Tpo tar/.deps/bsdtar-util.Po
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I./libarchive -I./libarchive -g -O2 -MT
tar/bsdtar-write.o -MD -MP -MF

Fw:ldap access domain AD failed on 4.7.6 and 4.8.0
Hi,
I want to use samba as AD on SLES 11 SP3. And I can make samba 4.5.x into some rpms which works well.

updating question
I have existing domain controllers running v4.6.7 installed from source (on
Ubuntu OS.)
I see that the install from source system requirements have changed for
Debian/Ubuntu OS on the
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Operating_System_Requirements page.
There are some additional packages listed that were not in my original
build of v4.6.7.
The additional packages include libarchive-dev,

FreeBSD tar errors on valid empty tar.gz
Seems our current libarchive? That support FreeBSD's tar implementation has
a bug where it can create archives it cant read back. This can be seen
by simply creating an empty tar.gz file and then trying to expand or
list it.
In doing the above you get the following error:
tar: Unrecognized archive format: Inappropriate file type or format
N.B. gtar can list and expand the created file
