samba4.1.2: Allow cryptography algorithms compatible with Windows NT 4.0
Hi all,
while fiddling with VmWare View without being able to join windows7
client to samba4 domain, we stumbled on the following article:
http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1028164
which says, should we run MS Windows 2008R2 AD, we should enable the

Fwd: [Cryptography] Why aren’t we using SSH for everything?
There were a few notes in this thread that may indicate
open areas for development. I forward merely as FYI.

discussion about keystroke timing attacks against SSH on the cryptography ML
Hi folks.
FYI:
There's a discussion[0] about keystroke timing attacks against SSH going
on on the cryptography mailing list.
Would be interesting to hear the opinion of some OpenSSH folks what
SSH/OpenSSH is doing against this and what could maybe be don in
addition.
Especially since the main idea behind the attack is obviously not
limited to the initial authentication phase when a password

2 questions...
I know this is a freeBSD mailing list, but I didn't know where else to
ask this question. I've recently switch to FreeBSD 4.8 (great OS btw),
and I've been so pleasantly surprised that i'm now planning to switch
over my dad's firm over to freeBSD. There computers/software are
rapidly getting old and obselete, and microsoft's price/security
is...well expensive/crap.

Down the MPD road
Well, after working through the various options it looked like MPD would be my
best bet here. I've got it sort of working, but there's obviously some
tweaky I'm missing here.
Recap of the scenario:
Full class C of static IPs segmented into 3 networks. Outside, DMZ, Inside.
Trying to get remote Windows users through securely to the Inside.
Remote users have dynamic IPs.

Landing Pad bug?
HI,
When compiling the open-source software cryptopp (https://www.cryptopp.com/#download <https://www.cryptopp.com/#download>) version 5.6.4 I found a strange issue with the IR generated.
The issue only appears when compiling with -O2 optimisation in the integer.cpp file (the function is _ZN8CryptoPPrsERNSt3__113basic_istreamIcNS0_11char_traitsIcEEEERNS_7IntegerE ->

RE: Fwd: [Cryptography] Why aren’t we using SSH for everything?
Damien,
What is the best document to use for documentation on SFTP? In other words, if I want to build an SFTP client library based on libssh.a, is there documentation about the series of messages I need to send over the wire?
Thanks,
ScottN

Determine reason for failure at -O1
Hi Everyone,
We caught a report for a failed self test when using Clang 5.0 and 6.0
with -DDEBUG and -O1 (i.e., a "debug build"). The code is question is
located at https://github.com/weidai11/cryptopp/blob/master/cham-simd.cpp
. It is the SSSE3 code path for CHAM64.
Other optimizations levels are OK for Clang. GCC, ICC and MSVC are OK.
The code is valgrind, Sanitizer, Coverity and

VPN through BSD for Win2k, totally baffled
Scenario:
FreeBSD box running IPFW acting as a gateway to private network. The private
network is made up of entirely routeable IP addresses. External users
running Win2k and XP on DSL connections with dynamic IPs.
Goal:
To have the FreeBSD gateway securely authenticate and encrypt the traffic
between the outside users and the internal network.
I've spent the last 3 days running up and

Broken package
CentoOS 7 python-cryptography package is at version 0.8.2
It has a build-requires for python-cryptography-vectors of the same
version (but different source tarball apparently)
There is no python-cryptography-vectors in CentOS 7 base or updates.
There is one in EPEL but it is version 0.8
-=-
If you relax the BuildRequires to just require
python-cryptography-vectors then the build fails
