Or it should be replicated by drs. The numbers you are seeing are coming from idmap.ldb, now as you are using Sernet packages on Centos7, this will be in /var/lib/samba/private/idmap.ldb. The

Good luck with trying to install 'Service for NIS', it installs on a windows AD DC, you haven't got a windows AD DC, you have a Samba AD DC and guess what, it already

Samba AD DC replication error - 2, 'WERR_BADFILE'
Thanks for the fast reply. Sorry - I was not aware that attachments are not forwarded. (All information you requested was included there) I think I have already tried resync via "samba-tool drs replicate" - but better see below the printout of previous attachment "faiserver.log" Thanks for help in advance :) root at faiserver:~# uname -a Linux faiserver.example.corp

Second DC doesn't recognize users/groups on getent
Hello, I just realized that my second DC does not recognize the users from the AD. wbinfo -u/-g are working just fine. Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
At the moment numbers start at 3000000 and counting. In my eyes it would make sense, that these number be stored in the AD when provisioned with rfc2307. Or it should be replicated by drs. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Using_RFC2307_on_a_Samba_DC#Configuring_RFC2307_and_NIS_Extensions_in_a_Samba_AD says the following: No need for manual ID counting when using the default Microsoft tools. E. g.

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
I will try this tomorrow. Possibly this is my fix. When a domain is provisioned with rfc2307 it would make sense that Unix attributes especially uid/gid would automatically be set. A member also needs this to be set for unique fs acls right? Am 10. Replication with Multiple Sites in a Hub and Spoke Topology
Hi, It seems unlikely that the KCC is the cause of these issues. The KCC is only responsible for telling who to connect (and when) and doesn't actually affect any underlying network connectivity. Connectivity between the spokes should not be required and the communication between them is usually just some stale data. But none of that should affect either of these commands. Unless the DRS

DsReplicaSync failed - WERR_LOGON_FAILURE // Failed to bind to uuid for ncacn_ip_tcp - NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hello everyone, I have setup two Samba AD DC's running Debian 9 with BIND9_DLZ dns backend. Both are running Samba 4.5.16 - I know it is already very old version but this is the default one coming with debian stretch repo. (I will upgrade to Debian buster - and with this to newer Samba version - as soon as it is released stable and I could test the upgrade correctly :) )

Second DC doesn't recognize users/groups on getent
Hello Rowland, I should also mention that Samba 4.3.0 was installed from tarball, I compiled it myself. DC2 does not have the /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb file. Also it did not return any result on DC1. However, using /usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb, both DCs returned the same thing: # returned 4 records # 1 entries # 3 referrals I wonder why DC1 has the /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb file

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
Thanks for your answer and time you offer for me. That makes it a bit clearer. I searched the web and found that rsat needs to have the nis tools installed. Does it create Unix uid/gid automatically then? Without rfc2307 information it makes no sense to me to have a *nix machine for file services and another one for backup purposes, when uid and gid are not same (due to preserve acls). And for
