Second DC doesn't recognize users/groups on getent
Hello, I just realized that my second DC does not recognize the users from the AD. wbinfo -u/-g are working just fine. Or it should be replicated by drs. The numbers you are seeing are coming from idmap.ldb, now as you are using Sernet packages on Centos7, this will be in /var/lib/samba/private/idmap.ldb. The

DsReplicaSync failed - WERR_LOGON_FAILURE // Failed to bind to uuid for ncacn_ip_tcp - NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hello everyone, I have setup two Samba AD DC's running Debian 9 with BIND9_DLZ dns backend. Both are running Samba 4.5.16 - I know it is already very old version but this is the default one coming with debian stretch repo. (I will upgrade to Debian buster - and with this to newer Samba version - as soon as it is released stable and I could test the upgrade correctly :) )

Good luck with trying to install 'Service for NIS', it installs on a windows AD DC, you haven't got a windows AD DC, you have a Samba AD DC and guess what, it already

Second DC doesn't recognize users/groups on getent
Hello Rowland, I should also mention that Samba 4.3.0 was installed from tarball, I compiled it myself. DC2 does not have the /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb file. Also it did not return any result on DC1. However, using /usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb, both DCs returned the same thing: # returned 4 records # 1 entries # 3 referrals I wonder why DC1 has the /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb file

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
At the moment numbers start at 3000000 and counting. In my eyes it would make sense, that these number be stored in the AD when provisioned with rfc2307. Or it should be replicated by drs. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Using_RFC2307_on_a_Samba_DC#Configuring_RFC2307_and_NIS_Extensions_in_a_Samba_AD says the following: No need for manual ID counting when using the default Microsoft tools. inconsistency in treatment of USE.NAMES argument
Changing the vapply() behavior makes sense in principle. I analyzed the CRAN code base using the R parser and found 143 instances of calling vapply with USE.NAMES=FALSE. These would need to be inspected to understand the consequences of the change. For reference: /AzureML/R/datasets.R:226 /BBmisc/R/toRangeStr.R:33 /DBI/R/DBDriver.R:205 /Kmisc/R/str_rev.R:37 /Matrix/R/diagMatrix.R:98

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
I think I will only need uid and gid due to fs stuff. There are only Windows clients in that domain. So when the IDs are the same on both DCs, all will be fine I think. In RSAT there are no Unix attributes set. As an example: user1 has uid 3000021 on DC1 (first provisioned one). DRS seems fine. On DC2 user1 gets uid 3000017. If I set ID in RSAT Unix attributes after choosing domain, the IDs

Samba AD DC replication error - 2, 'WERR_BADFILE'
Ok, some more resolving things to fix.   On both DC's few things to edit. In resolv.conf, the order is important here and dont point to nameserver 127.0.0.1 for the DC's.   DC1. file: /etc/resolv.conf  search example.corp nameserver IP_DC1 nameserver IP_DC2 nameserver 8.8.4.4 /etc/hosts IP_DC1 hostname.internal.example.com hostname IP_DC2 hostname.internal.example.com hostname
