how to update solaris packages without keeping local copies
Greetings, I have a solaris package stored on a puppet server. I''d like to be able to maintain the package on a client system without having to also keep a copy of the package file on the client system. (think lots and lots of packages) Checksums work okay for noticing changes on the fileserver, but it seems that I have to keep a local copy of the file as well. When I rev the package

NS records for all DCs, verifying and creating a DC DNS records
Hi, all! There is no check of NS records in this document https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Verifying_and_Creating_a_DC_DNS_Record For example, with two DCs at myzone $ host -t NS myzone dc1 (or dc2, or myzone) must return two records: myzone name server dc1.myzone. myzone name server dc2.myzone. $ host -t NS _msdcs.myzone dc1 (or dc2, or myzone) must return two records: _msdcs.myzone name

X11UseLocalhost option and the DISPLAY variable
I wasn't paying much attention when there was a lot of conversation about these issues. I recently ran into a problem where an X app won't run with OpensSSH 3.1p1's default "X11UseLocalhost yes" setting. If I run the X app with the display set to "localhost:16.0" it gets a "BadAccess" error, but if I run it with the display set to

[Samba4] samba_dlz problem "loading configuration: already exists"
Hi, I'm new to this list and Samba4, so may be this is a stupid question. I've installed samba4 (4.0.0alpha18-GIT-7b42ceb) on a server in my home LAN and have a problem with samba_dlz and bind (9.8.1-P1). In the zone definition file for my LAN domain, I had configured the IP addresses for several host names (e.g. printer, ...) with "A" records. This worked perfectly fine in

Libvirt Compilation on MS Vista
Does a comprehensive set of instructions on how to compile Libvirt on a Microsoft Vista platform exist? Has this ever been accomplished? I would very much appreciate input from persons who can give me confidence that a Windows client application can be developed on top of Libviet that connects to a QEMU system on an Ubuntu server. The Libvirt Windows Support page

IP Instances with VLAN''s
Hi, how can ip instances be used with vlans ? Is that possible ? I don''t know how to configure this, if I only have one interface (e.g. bge0), and want to assign e.g. bge1000 to a zone. Any cookbooks available ? Thanks Detlef

0-client_t: null client [Invalid argument] & high CPU usage (Gluster 3.12)
Thanks Milind, Yes I?m hanging out for CentOS?s Storage / Gluster SIG to release the packages for 3.12.1, I can see the packages were built a week ago but they?re still not on the repo :( -- Sam > On 18 Sep 2017, at 9:57 pm, Milind Changire <mchangir at redhat.com> wrote: > > Sam, > You might want to give glusterfs-3.12.1 a try instead. > > > >> On Fri, Sep

Windows Client
Having newly compiled a Libvirt on a Windows Vista machine (many thanks to Matthias Bolte) I have attempted to connect to a remote Ubuntu machine using virsh.exe. However, the connection fails as follows: $ virsh -c qemu+tcp:///system error: unable to connect to libvirtd at 'localhost': errno=10061 error: failed to connect to the hypervisor 1. I have modified

Boolean expressions
I''m trying to write a wrapper definition for the file type to make it a bit smarter. I have a basic version working fairly well: define xfile($owner = root, $group = root, $mode = 644, $source, $backup = main, $recurse = false, $ensure = file) { file { $name: mode => $mode, owner => $owner, group => $group, backup => $backup, recurse

0-client_t: null client [Invalid argument] & high CPU usage (Gluster 3.12)
FYI - I've been testing the Gluster 3.12.1 packages with the help of the SIG maintainer and I can confirm that the logs are no longer being filled with NFS or null client errors after the upgrade. -- Sam McLeod @s_mcleod https://smcleod.net > On 18 Sep 2017, at 10:14 pm, Sam McLeod <mailinglists at smcleod.net> wrote: > > Thanks Milind, > > Yes I?m hanging out for

Browsing problem on the Windows Side
Hi fellow Samba Users, I've recently added a RedHat/Samba box to a Windows network and got an unpleasant surprise. Windows machines that logout and then log back in are unable to browse AND unable to map drives. The machines that were logged in before Samba booted continue to work fine. We've repeated the experience a couple times to make sure we understood the symptoms. I'll

0-client_t: null client [Invalid argument] & high CPU usage (Gluster 3.12)
Howdy, I'm setting up several gluster 3.12 clusters running on CentOS 7 and have having issues with glusterd.log and glustershd.log both being filled with errors relating to null client errors and client-callback functions. They seem to be related to high CPU usage across the nodes although I don't have a way of confirming that (suggestions welcomed!). in

Kaspersky Anti-virus unable to join Domain
Just a heads up. I recently built a new (XPSP2) image with the Kaspersky 6.0.3.837 on it. I had issues joining the domain with the AV running. Had to disable. (A domain controller for domain ABC could not be contacted.....) I didn't have AV on my previous image, so I don't know if version 5 did the same. I don't recall seeing this on the list, so I thought I would throw it out....

Filtering a data frame by regular expression
Hello, I am having difficulty filtering a data frame. I would like to take all the rows of a data frame where column A contains the regular expression "UTI" (or some other regex). Here's what I've got: utiRE <- function (avector) { occurs <- c() r1 <- "UTI" for (x in avector) { if (!is.na(grep(r1,x,perl=TRUE))) { occurs <- c(occurs, TRUE) } else { occurs
