PHP+Oracle problem
Hi! I have succesfully installed Oracle 9.2.0.4 on Centos. Everything is fine with it. Then I recompiled php-4.3.2-19.ent.src.rpm with rpmbuild --rebuild --define 'oracle 1' php-4.3.2-19.ent.src.rpm The compilation was successful, and I got the php and the php-oci8 rpms. Then I installed them both. After this one running the following PHP script: <?php $c =

TEQL+HTB (?)
Hi! We have 2 lines with 2 mbit each. I have to set up a configuration like the following: - if both lines work, grant 3 mbit to a web service running on a server in our DMZ - if one line fails, grant all the remaining 2 mbit to that service - if the service doesn''t need all the bandwidth, use the remaining for other services I read through the HOWTO, and figured out that I need TEQL to

The case of the disconnecting network shares
We recently completed our Samba 3 to Samba 4 transition without too many serious problems but one rather annoying issue has cropped up since the migration. Network shares on our file server become disconnected overnight, whether idle or not. This was never a problem with Samba 3 but since upgrading Samba on the server to version 4 and joining it to the Samba 4 AD domain this problem is

time sensitive error "the specified network name is no longer available."
I have a user w/ puzzling error. We have not been able to get a tcpdump or significant samba log, but I'm posting to see if anyone else has seen this. I did find some older posts that point to possible client issues. We're running samba 3.0.25b on RHEL4. The user reports: I am getting an error whenever I want to make a copy of a MS Excel file on my shared network drive: (From

Centos 6.4: Possible bug in system-config-network-cmd
I'm having a puzzling problem with system-config-network-cmd in CentOS 6.4. I have a workstation with a number of different grub boot configurations (a spare for a set of workstations, basically), each of which has a parameter MYHOST=<hostname>, and I am using system-config-network-cmd to set the boot configuration during the network process (using a small custom system service that runs

Change system-wide default configuration for FF and OO with /etc/skel
Hi, I'm using a heavily tweaked CentOS 5.4 for desktop installs (here's what it looks like: http://www.microlinux.fr/captures.html). For every app I install, I try to configure a sensible default configuration system-wide for all users. For example, once I found a nice configuration for XMMS (default skin, loads of plugins, orange On Screen Display in a nice font, etcetera), I put my

Programs under wine can't connect to the network
Hey all Have a very strange problem in slack 8, using wine 20011004. First noticed this with counterstrike, than checked with other programs that should access the net. I get this error, and programs fail: fixme:winsock:_get_sock_fd handle 304 is not a socket (GLE 6) Documentation seems to imply that if I can get on the net with linux, I should be able to use wine with it. Weirdest part is

Saving all network parameters like iptables-save
Is it possible to save all the ip addreses and routes and routing rules and tc settings from the kernel in some kind of a file... just like iptables-save does? And if not, why not :) that would be a very usefull feature. -- damjan | дамјан This is my jabber ID --> damjan@bagra.net.mk -- not my mail address, it''s a Jabber ID --^ :)

Can ping computers in another network, but can't see samba
Hi. We have a successful samba server up and running on our local network. We also have a connection via a 3Com ATM router to another network. I can ping computers on that network, and they can ping the samba server. In network neighborhood I can see their computers. They also see our Win9x/NT/2K systems under their network neighborhood, but they don't see the samba server. If I try

Optimization generate super long function definition
Hi all, sorry to have sent the same question around. I am quite desperately looking for a solution to this problem and I figured the mailing list is the best bet. In my code, I generate the following function: define i32 @gl.qi([500 x i32] %x, i32 %i) { entry: %x. = alloca [500 x i32] %i. = alloca i32 %0 = alloca [500 x i32] store [500 x i32] %x, [500 x i32]* %x. store i32 %i, i32*

The case of the disconnecting network shares
Hi Jeremy, No, I don't mean "deadtime". I mean auto disconnect. Specifically, the command "net config server /autodisconnect:-1" was run on each client machine. If deadtime is a server configuration item perhaps you could point me in the direction of some documentation where that is covered. The documentation for smb.conf is, to put it very mildly, incomplete.

Network configuration
Hi, Apologies for the cross-posting; I''m not sure whether this is a firewall or routing issue, or both! I have four network cards, detailed below. eth0 and eth3 connect to my ISPs, and eth1 and eth2 connect to local networks. I want to route all traffic from eth2 to eth0, and from eth1 to eth3. However, I am having a few problems with this. eth0 ip: 192.168.100.253/24 gw:

Questions about network configuration
Hi, I'm currently reading chapter 13 of the RHEL Deployment Guide, and taking some notes. I have a few minor questions: /etc/sysconfig/network According to the doc: "This file specifies routing and host information for all network interfaces." Here's how mine looks like: --8<----------------- NETWORKING=yes NETWORKING_IPV6=yes HOSTNAME=fujitsu.zuhause

Network configuration: desktop vs. laptop
Hi Niki, On CentOS it's normal for both wireless and wired to be connected at the same time, maybe what you are seeing is just the icon's being confusing or not being replaced with the right thing? This is easy to check, just issue an "ip route". On My system I can see something like this: default via 192.168.0.1 dev eth0 proto static 192.168.0.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel

Using two subnets to change network configuration
Problem: My network uses the 192.168.1.0/24 network. Since is the most common network in all of the world it begins presenting problems when I want to set up vpns, or try to do other routing. The solution: Change the network from 192.168.1.0/24 to 172.24.24.0/22. This is somewhere in the middle of the less frequently used RFC-1918 20 bit private network range. My network contains 40 or so
