REST Client
Hello, I would like to make some REST calls in my rails application which will then parse the XML results and display them in a view. What I am having a hard time doing is figuring out how to make the actual REST Call? I have figured out how to use XMLRPC , but the site only supports REST. Is there an easy way to initiate the GET/POST REST Calls that I need to make and analyze the returned

Passing XMLRPC errors on to clients
Hi, I''m experimenting with using Mongrel to serve XMLRPC, and I''m having trouble passing the XMLRPC errors on to the client. In my webrick implementation, I just raise the XMLRPC error and the client receives it and can handle it like a normal exception. With Mongrel, when I raise the error, Mongrel catches it and just closes the client connection, which means the

Problem with Mongrel, Rails and web services using xmlrpc
Hi all, Ruby 1.8.4 Windows XP Pro / Solaris 10 Mongrel 0.3.12 Rails 1.1.2 I''ve got a fairly simple and straightforward layered dispatching web service setup for my Rails app. This simple xmlrpc script works fine with WEBrick, but chokes on Mongrel. Is there anything special I need to do to make web services work with Mongrel and Rails? Some Google searching indicates that there had

[PATCH] [Xen-API] Patch for fixing the rtc/timeoffset entry
This patch rewrites the rtc/timeoffset entry so the VM''s record can be retrieved with the Java xmlrpc library. If the entry is ''None'' it upsets the xmlrpc parser. This fixes it, though maybe there''s a better place in xend to place similar code. Signed-off-by: Stefan Berger <stefanb@us.ibm.com> _______________________________________________ Xen-devel

Rebuild Fedora Core 6 cmake rpm on CentOS 5
Hi, I'm trying to build cmake on CentOS 5 from a Fedora Core 6 source rpm (I need it for another package I'm trying to build from a source rpm, xmlrpc-c). When I start the build, I get this error: error: Failed build dependencies: xmlrpc-c-devel is needed by cmake-2.4.6-3.el5.i386 Well, that's nuts. I can't build xmlrpm-c without cmake, but cmake won't build without

Bug#477237: xen-utils-common: typo in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp for xmlrpc configuration
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 3.2.0-1~bpo4+1 Severity: minor I use the version from backports, but it's still present in sid. In /etc/xen/xend-config-sxp : #(xen-tcp-xmlrpc-server-address 'localhost') #(xen-tcp-xmlrpc-server-port 8006) should be #(xend-tcp-xmlrpc-server-address 'localhost') #(xend-tcp-xmlrpc-server-port 8006) Small typo in a commented line, but

FW: rsync hanging after working reliably for years on one of my shares
Thanks for the suggestions - I have done my best to follow them. I inserted the debug shim script and changed the rsync executable in rsync so that it called that instead, and got the same results. Here is the tail from that: 21381 0.000108 open("www.athenshousing.org/xmlrpc.php", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 3 21381 0.000122 fstat64(3, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=294, ...}) =

Coding help : Where to log X11 forwards?
OpenSSH 5.1p1 I can't grasp why, when connecting with 'ssh -Y' to this test host, I am not tickling the verbose() call below that I have added. I am logging as auth + verbose in sshd_config The X11 forward for the session works fine as tested with xterm. At any rate, I am looking for some guidance on where to log X11 forwards that are established, ideally with a username and remote

REST/XMLRPC backward compatibility?
Hi all, I''m in the throes of the REST conversion and I''m wondering: How important is it to retain backward compatibility? The language will clearly be consistent between the two, but it looks like it''s going to be a heckuva lot more complicated to keep compatibility for all network services (as in, for each of them, I''ll have to write a shell that

Need Help Updating Records
This is a stupid question I know, but it is driving me crazy - I am missing something simple and basic here. I am trying to update missing zip codes on a data table. I am doing something incorrectly as the data in the Source table is not being updated, only the value in the array is changed. How do I get this to update the actual DB record instead? def add_missing_zips #find all records in

Getting a list of available methods from ActionWebService
Hi all, I dug around a bit, may have missed it. Is there a method automatically generated by ActionWebService (or XMLRPC::Server) that a client can use to list all available service methods (perhaps along with docs)? Or do I have to roll that myself? Thanks, Dan This communication is the property of Qwest and may contain confidential or privileged information. Unauthorized use of this

SSOAP XML-RPC
Hi, I'm trying to use the XML-RPC client in the SSOAP package to connect to a service that I have created. From other languages (Perl, Python, Ruby) this is not a problem but the SSOAP client gives the following error: Error in .XMLRPC("http://localhost:9000", "Cytoscape.test", .opts = list(verbose = TRUE)) : Failed to parse XML-RPC request: Content is not allowed in
