imapc problem
hello, I have some trouble when trying to migrate from another imap server to dovecot with imapc/dsync/doveadm. when running "doveadm -o imapc_user=foo -o imapc_password=bar backup -R -u localuser imapc:" all is ok. But when running "doveadm -o imapc_user=foo -o imapc_password=bar sync -R -u localuser imapc:", all local mods are overwritten. For example deleting a

Recommended tool for migrating IMAP servers

It is dreadfully slow -- I used it to export some of my users' mailboxes to Gmail or other remote mail servers, and I could almost cut&paste the messages faster. Like Aki

Scenario with CIFS
Hi all! I'm trying to get samba working with CIFS, mounting a share on a client and keeping the original file/dir permissions. The problem is that after I (successfully) mount that share by CIFS, I can't write anything in it, because I get a 'Permission denied' error. smbd version is 6.3.6. My testparm is: root at samba:~# testparm Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf

Recommended tool for migrating IMAP servers
Hi Friends, I would like to ask you a suggestion: I need to migrate a imap server to a new one and then dismiss the old one. Reading from relative Dovecot documentation page (https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration), more tools are shown: UW-IMAP's mailutil, imapsync, YippieMove and Larch. The each mail servers are Linux based, one of this (mine) is Dovecot. Based on your experience which of

pjsip subscribe (presence) always returns: No matching endpoint found
Hello List I am in the progress of migrating from chan_sip to pjsip. I fear I have missed something on how hints need to be specified for pjsip. For chan_sip I have configured sip.conf subscribecontext = localuser and in the dialplan I set: [localuser] exten => 11,hint,SIP/11 Now if a phone subscribes to '11' this works. Now I try to get the same working for pjsip. I understood

Mapping of INBOX.INBOX breaks imapc_list_prefix=INBOX?
We're running a huge imapc-Migration from an old Courier-IMAP to Dovecot. Courier always uses "INBOX."-prefix for his folders, so we set namespace inbox { [...] separator = . prefix = INBOX. [...] } on our new Dovecot 2.2.20 system. And also we added: imapc_list_prefix=INBOX to avoid the dublication of the INBOX prefix. At the end, doveadm/dsync/imapc see

rsync backup permissions
I had a quick look for an answer to what I'd presume is a common Q but failed so wondering if somebody here would point me in the right direction, please & thanks?! I wish to use rsync to backup users' home dirs from machineA (Debian) to machineB (Fedora). I have a script, say backup.sh, in my own home dir and linked to from /etc/cron.daily and have set up the ssh keys so

[PATCH] allow announcements in app_dial
Hi. Since a customer requested us that feature, I wrote this little patch for app_dial to allow to play an announcement to the called party, as soon he answers. you can define the file to play in the dial() option, using A(filename). for example: exten => blah,1,Dial(Zap/blah,30,rA(/my/own/announce)Tt) that doesn't break anything ... feel free to blame me for anything bad this patch

lmtp_save_to_detail_mailbox override
Hi, I have a dovecot 2.3.2.1 instance running here that is getting userdb and passdb data from a SQL database. This was a cyrus server migrated over and all users are happy. All users except one: Said user asked if it would be possible to disable subaddressing (localuser+folder at example.com) again. The setting controlling that is AFAIK the lmtp_save_to_detail_mailbox item. My idea was to

SAMBA using existing users and passwords on Linux
Hello everyone. I'm back because I decided to follow your advice and deploy the system using a new version of SAMBA with encrypted passwords. I added the SAMBA server in the AD domain without any problems and I am already accessing the shares with AD users. However I have a new problem for which I need help. When I try to access SAMBA shares with local Linux users, it is necessary to include

Upgrade to 2.2.9 breaks sasl auth
Hi This is my 1st time here so please be gentle. I have encountered one problem since upgrading from 2.0.19 to 2.2.9 which has me beat. The system provides sasl auth services via inet to a postfix 2.11 system. Since the upgrade postfix complains of no sasl methods available. The same dovecot configuration is used on both versions. Now I get these results looking at the inet connection Version

Error bars
Hi, Can anyone help with plotting vertical error bars on a bar graph. I have tried following examples online and in the big R book and writing my own function but I have been unsuccessful and don’t really have an understanding of what it is I am doing. I have calculated my standard errors so basically just need to draw the bars on the graph but just don’t have a clue!!! I don’t even know what

imapc / namespace question
Hi, I've got two questions regarding imapc and namespaces: 1) Is there a way of stating, that I only want part of the hierarchy on the end of an imapc connection to be available here? My "problem": On the other end the layout is: INBOX.Shared.{some,nice,folders} If I mirror this into my dovecot hierarchy with prefix "Gemeinsam" I get the following folder structure:
