performance tradeoffs/penalty
hi everybody a newbie here, hoping some experienced users/expert can honestly answer this one question, and I think I realize all other advantages libvirtoffer but simply performance, does libvirt make a user pay penalty, even if only a small amount, for using it when compared to raw qemu-kvm command line? if it does where the overhead goes? quest or host, or maybe both? lastly if overall

Support for on-demand USB pass through
Hi, I'm trying to use USB pass through with devices that are not present at the VM startup. However, when starting the machine, libvirt complains that the USB device doesn't exist. I was following the guide at [1], but this doesn't seem to work on Debian Wheezy. Any hints how to achieve that? Thanks, Felicitus [1]

psychometric functions
Hi, I want to fit some psychophysical data with cumulative gaussians. There is quite a convenient toolbox for matlab called 'psignifit' (formerly known as 'psychofit'). It allows the lower bound of the sigmoid to vary slightly from zero, aswell as the upper bound to vary from one. with these two free parameters, the fitted function is less sensitive to noisy data and outliers.

virDBusCallMethod:1173 : Launch helper exited with unknown return code
Good morning, I'm using libvirtd on Gentoo. This is libvirt version: 1.1.3.1 I have trouble starting a VM using virsh start $vm. I do this as root, because as non-root user it did not work at all (especially it failed attaching to the networks). So, when I run the command (with sudo), I get the following error in libvirtd.log: 2014-01-15 07:51:00.423+0000: 16158: warning :
