R crashes on Repeated ODBC Queries
Hi,
I've been up all night trying to get the following to work.
First here is the setup. I have a P4 1G mem running WinXP SP2, R 2.0.1
patched 2005-01-15, MySQL 4.1.7 and MyODBC 3.51.
I've been pulling data from MySQL using the code at the end of the post,
where start.date and end.date are chron objects and auction.type is a
string. I've been rushed so the code, especially the

Working with Numbers generated from Regression Output
Hi,
I have a query on regression output generated by R.

After running this 2 statements the following output is generated.
Call:
lm(formula = Y ~ X, data = trail)
Residuals:

psm/survreg coefficient values ?
I am using psm to model some parametric survival data, the data is for
length of stay in an emergency department. There are several ways a
patient's stay in the emergency department can end (discharge, admit, etc..)
so I am looking at modeling the effects of several covariates on the various
outcomes. Initially I am trying to fit a survival model for each type of
outcome using the psm

I tried gcc.c from
http://people.csail.mit.edu/smcc/projects/single-file-programs/ and the
difference is a bit more noticeable:
-O0 -mno-relax-all
real 0m13.182s
user 0m12.690s
sys 0m0.450s
-O0
gcc.o is 10932968 bytes.
real 0m12.969s
user 0m12.520s
sys 0m0.410s
gcc.o is 11410552 bytes
IMHO it would still be reasonable to switch to

averaging two tables (rows with columns)
Hi R user,I am struggling to figure out on how I can calculate the average from the two tables in R. Any one can help me? really your help would be grateful- I am spending so much time to figure it out. It should not be so hard, I think.
I have very big data but I have created a hypothetical data for simplification.
for example
I have : table 1
table 1: species occurance data
